The excitement for the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season is at an all-time high as the general public tickets for the highly anticipated match between the Geelong Cats and Collingwood on Friday, 17 March at the MCG sold out this morning. Club members will have access to general admission areas by scanning their memberships.
According to Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers, the ticket sales for Round One are a testament to the buzz surrounding the start of the AFL season. “Footy is back and the excitement is palpable. If you’re a club or MCC member, tonight’s game is a must-see event,” Rogers said.
With over 80,000 fans expected to attend tonight’s game and another sold-out match tomorrow night, Rogers estimates that the first round of the AFL season will attract around 350,000 fans. The Geelong vs Collingwood match follows the recent sell-out of the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon, which sold out in less than a week, as well as four out of the nine Gather Round matches.
Should any further tickets become available for the Anzac Day match, they will be released via Ticketek at 11am (AEST) on Friday, 21 April 2023. So, mark your calendars and don’t miss out on the chance to be a part of the electrifying atmosphere of AFL footy.
