The AFL is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of Australian talent for the 2024 Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment, to be held at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as part of the Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 28.
Among the performers are Australian sensation Cody Simpson, multi-ARIA Award winner Christine Anu, rising star Zipporah Corser-Anu, and Grand Final favorite Mike Brady AM. Joining them will be international pop star Katy Perry, promising an unforgettable pre-game show.
Christine Anu and her daughter Zipporah Corser-Anu will collaborate on a First Nations ceremony, supported by the Songlines Youth Choir. Mike Brady AM will return to perform his beloved footy anthem “Up There Cazaly” as part of the AFL retiree motorcade, while Cody Simpson will proudly perform the Australian national anthem.
AFL CEO Andrew Dillon expressed his excitement about the lineup, saying, “We’re proud to have some of Australia’s finest talent perform as part of our Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment, celebrating the conclusion of another outstanding season. With performers like Cody, Christine, Zipporah, and Mike, we are sure to deliver a show that will captivate fans both in the stadium and watching from home.”
Having previously performed at the 2022 AFLW Grand Final, Cody Simpson is no stranger to the stage. “I’m beyond excited to sing the national anthem at the AFL Grand Final. It’s an incredible honor as an Australian, and I hope to make it a moment of pride for everyone,” Simpson shared.
Christine Anu, a proud Torres Strait Islander, has enjoyed a stellar 30-year career in music and entertainment. Known for her iconic song “My Island Home,” Christine will share the stage with her daughter, Zipporah, marking a special family moment. “It’s such an honor to perform at the AFL Grand Final, especially alongside my daughter Zipporah and the Songlines Youth Choir. I’m thrilled to be part of this celebration,” Christine said.
Mike Brady AM, a staple of AFL Grand Final entertainment, will once again perform “Up There Cazaly,” continuing his long-standing tradition with the AFL. Brady’s performance has become a signature moment in the Grand Final celebrations.

The Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment will kick off at 1:23 PM AEST, and the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and 7plus.
