Injury Season 2025 - Geelong Injury Thread

Looking forward to the injury update today

Especially the information regarding Bruhn if he’s required to have surgery or not
All i am going to say is that I expect the diagnosis and info from the club to be particularly vague and without any real time line on a return...

Has he been at training?
he has, he has been very absent from social media, and not seen at all in the club posts...
but Ch 10 news had a clip the other day at Geelong, and with footage from training the first thing i saw was Bruhn involved in stoppage work

I mentioned to a mate the the "injury" can't be that bad if he was still involved at training.

Good. That can put those rumours to bed then.

Which finger is it? Not that it matters I suppose, you need all of them to catch a ball :p

Based on the Hawthorn game, left ring finger was most heavily strapped

But he had other strapping on his wrist and at least one other finger

Based on exposed evidence, we can expect something along these lines...

'Following a period of very promising training, Tanner Bruhn sustained an injury to his lower arm during a routine drill. This injury has now been assessed by our wellness team and a detailed program for his return to all football-related activities is currently being formulated. In the meantime, he has been proceeding without incident through a number of specific rehabilitation exercises under the direction of our expert medical staff. We anticipate that he will be available for selection prior to the club's bye and will provide further detailed updates on his progress as and when it is deemed necessary.'

All that to say, I hope he's playing again extremely soon. Unlike some here, I'm a believer in his continued development and his overall value to the group now and into the future.

Connor O'Sullivan come on down!

I wonder if we would have put one of bews or Guthrie on the LTI and taken an extra rookie if we knew both would be injured. Too late til the MSD. I expect one of them will be a mid season retirement anyway (especially if we need to get a ruck by then).

Toby Conway - Back, TBC

Toby has returned to running and is progressing well through this reconditioning block. He will start integrating into football-based drills over the next fortnight.

That's a quarter of the list missing through injury at this point. It's potentially not hurting the make-up of the senior team too much right now. But you'd have to think the output of the VFL team is going to suffer in the short term. And any more additions to this list over coming weeks could start to become quite costly for our senior team.

When did Burke get injured? He hasn't played practice games and they haven't announced it.
Also what is this keighton 'management'? Is that code for he's not fit enough but they don't want to say so while they condition block him.

Realistically mannagh and Martin are our big 2 to get back none if the list above are b22 except bruhn and kolo (Guthrie is but will never get back imo).

Maybe need to get his head back in the game.

Also it was never realistic for Edwards to play much afl this year-his body will need managing. Which is why it's sdk for the ruck unless we bring one in mid year

Maybe need to get his head back in the game.

That's my concern too but I hope I'm wrong and it's just niggling injuries..someone needs to do the 31 justice.
