When did Burke get injured? He hasn't played practice games and they haven't announced it.
Also what is this keighton 'management'? Is that code for he's not fit enough but they don't want to say so while they condition block him.

Realistically mannagh and Martin are our big 2 to get back none if the list above are b22 except bruhn and kolo (Guthrie is but will never get back imo).

The following is taken from Keighton's thread in the Cat Scan section - from pretty much a month ago on Feb 18

Copped a knock at training, reckons he’s back to training next week.

I'm taking from that that he's more returned to training, but with that interruption he's a bit behind the 8 ball, and being a first year recruit they're taking a conservative approach

And no idea on Burke - I was curious if anyone knew how he was going, and guessing we've now got something of an answer

Bews 7 - 11 weeks but Bruhn 'TBC' ?

Burke 'indefinite'......Did we buy broken goods??

They are saying they knew Burke had a knee Injury when they agreed to list him (interesting).

Can't read it any other way, so they must be confident in his prognosis and consider the risk worthwhile.

That or they really just thought furphy was terrible.

That's my concern too but I hope I'm wrong and it's just niggling injuries..someone needs to do the 31 justice.
It's been mentioned that he was wearing a compression garment at the VFL.

They've probably been trying to build him up physically, he's since broken down, and they've decided to let him heal up for a couple weeks before they try again.

I know we're conditioned to jump to the worst possible conclusion right now....but it's highly unlikely it's a big deal.

Happens all the time with kids. They've gone from high school students to completing the training of elite athletes within months.

Many of them can't handle it early on, and rightfully so.

How can a young kid be managed for 3/4 weeks
broad stroke way of saying hes not able to play right now and will be focused on recovery and general fitness loading targeted to a week plan being implemented currently.

GO Catters

ps - i was possessed by a GFC medical and media spirit when posting this.

also he was always a project, never ever expected to have an impact this year and literally takes up the last spot on the list... if they think he will be anything, the intent is to just get his body right and build him for the game, so no doubt a calculated risk

I'll post the same advice here

Just a reminder, there's still a court-issued suppression order in place - until such time as that is lifted, the matter can't be discussed

A really simply way to look at things - until the media is permitted to discuss the matter, then it's best to not be discussing it

I agree...but unfortunately the horse has bolted on this one, and it's on the main board for all to see. I don't know how that info became publicly available, but anyone can access it via the court's link.

This will spread like wildfire on here now. To say I'm disappointed, is an understatement.

I get that but is the court not breaching their own suppression order by having the hearing listed on the schedule on the website? It's a bit stupid to do that.

It's beyond stupid, it's actually culpable, IMO. I would hate for there to be a situation where he's guilty, and he gets off on a technicality and returns to our club - because the court couldn't figure out how to block his case being available on the goddamn internet.

This is Grade 6 stuff.

Innocent until proven guilty though. His name will be forever tarnished no matter which way the case goes.

An update for those interested -

I'm aware of the information that's come out today and has been shared in various locations, platforms etc, and currently seeking clarity on what can or cannot be discussed in relation to that matter

At this stage I'd strongly recommend we stick with the approach we've taken over the last month (no mods want to undertake unnecessary mass clean ups of posts), and if we're told otherwise in terms of discussion, we'll take steps to go from there

No one's got their heads in the sand regarding things, but we want to ensure we are keeping in line with any required legal considerations and that WE (collective we) don't do anything that could potentially impact any pending court cases

The f*ckwits on the main board have already seen to that. They're naming him left, right and center, lol. Not to mention that screenshot of the magistrate, is all over the Cats Twitter responses, to the Neale, Henry and Cameron signings. They've disabled it now apparently.

Agree with this position, but I imagine by tomorrow it won't matter - everyone will know anyway.

Direct quote from the boss and this is the approach we'll continue to take on this board until further notice:

"People just have to be careful they don't get themselves in trouble posting stuff publicly. Honestly I would keep it off the public boards."

Think before you post.
You are the publisher of your words. You could be held personally liable for what you post here or on any other platform. Details here >>

And if people want to discuss it, the following thread would be more appropriate (for now)

The way I've gone about it, is plausible deniability. Discuss the situation, but don't use names. It's out there, but you don't need to implicate yourself, by using the actual name itself. Seems the majority of sane posters, are doing the same.
