Mega Thread Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT? Part 2

He'll be a like a batsman who gets a rare over and flukes a wicket. Or the dour full back kicking a goal. The crowd is going to erupt, as it's all the footy world has been talking about. I'm hoping he saves it for a Grand Final - in the goal square.

P.S Walshy's coaches votes drivel was picked up by David King on SEN last week. You too could become famous and have Kingy go with Nick being too useless to take a contested mark. They've got to find something to crap on about.
Kingy is a wise man.

I'd be asking to be put on a SEN story finders fee. Kane-O was just crapping on about Daicos being a protected species with the umps.

I think he might start mining your Nick squib library soon to really generate some clicks.

Not sure who 'both' is...

But are you suitably embarrassed with your scoffing at my assessment that Steele at 35 is better than Acres at his peak at 28 (or whatever age he is)?
We're 2 rounds into the season Fudge... Generally you judge it at the end of it lmao.

I think I'll back the 28 year old who's outperformed Sidebum the last 2 years rather than the old geriatric on his last legs

But....

He hasn't.

And that was my point, which has continued so far this year.

But I suspect you can pull out your footywire stats and say 'See, Acres is better!'

Factually has. Your opinion is based entirely off of admiration and nostalgia.
Your opinion is based off Footywire stats - as if that constitutes 'factually'.

Mine is based off watching them play football.

Steele has more skill and football smarts in his little toenail than Acres has in his whole body.

Steele had 22 disposals on Friday night, and Garry Lyon for one rated him as the most valuable player across the weekend's games.

One good game on the weekend... Sounds about right for current day Sidebottom. Reality is Acres has outperformed him considerably over the last 2 seasons on a wing.

His 31 possession, 7 coaches vote game the week before wasn't too bad, either.

Have you forgotten that one already, or wasn't it even on your radar?

Poor old Bluebaggers. Don't even know what their issue is. Acres is part of the problem - excellent insiders get it to the outside to blokes like Acres who are hard working scrubs who don't have the skillset for outside footy, so it's straight back into a contest without a line being broken.

No he remembered it. He had been arguing that Fly had been cheating for Nick and ahd stolen a coaches vote or two off Sidebottom...

It will be interesting to see whether Acres can have a single game this season that is as good or influential as either of Steele's rounds 1 and 2...

There's only three players better than Sidey at the Blues, one of them is only better because he's younger. Also, none of them are clutch like Steele.

As long as their players hit their monthly quota of one contested mark, that's all that matters.
That's why Walshy rates Acres so highly. He's already taken one this year. He then kicked to a contest as he did with all other possessions - accept the ones he turned over.

Comparing Acres to a bloke who has played 334 games is laughable.

Sidebottom by the length of the Flemington straight.

Right now for Daicos

Disposals - 18th
Effective disposals - 24th
Handballs - 24th
Kicks - 28th
Inside 50's - 9th
Centre Clearances - 66th
Stoppage Clearances - 9th
Goals - 185th
Goal assists - 75th
Score Involvements - 40th
Metres Gained - 42nd

So he is having an okay season but nothing to write home about so far. That could obviously change though since the season has only just started.

That ave or totals?
Assuming ave

It'd have to be averages. We're one of two teams to have played 3 games and Nick would have had over 80 possessions - he'd be number 1 or 2 if it was total possessions.
Yeah that’s what i figured but wanted to make sure
