He shouldn't even have been playing last week and you want to chuck him on the ball?
He needs to get match fit before even considering something like that. As much as we all love Charlie, I don't think he works hard enough to play on ball.

I love Charles but geez he needs to lead at the footy. It is sooo easy for an oppo coach to defend against forwards that just point to the area they want the ball kicked.

(unless your Sam Darcy with Go-go gadget arms)

I'd play Boyd and Will White.

Young probably makes way for McKay.

I'd drop Haynes or McGovern for Will White.

Kemp probably for Boyd.

Put Silvagni forward.

Much better signs last week, don't think we are far off from an acceptable baseline of effort and commitment

Forwards need to work a little harder, coming at the ball carrier, bringing ball to ground if they can't mark it and smalls working to the fall of the ball

Ball movement also a tad better, but still too manufactured, we need to shift it off the line a little more and an extra touch or 2

We wont drop a game for the rest of the season, until we do

Thats my prediction

For me, the guys tried as hard as they could against the Hawks. I think this starts the attrition game for our players as they will go hard again and for the next few weeks to try their best to recover the 'ladder' situation. The hidden cost of this is the sheer effort a few key players will put in will end them by round 14/15 if not attrition injuries.

I think the disposal and kicking issues are 'linked' to Vossy's stoppage game. I personally think 90% one of our players would have a higher efficiency rate under Hawks transition game. Note; having said that, they wouldn't be as good as some peers over at the Hawks who have been hand picked with this skill in mind.

For me, i'll be watching Curnow and Walsh. I'm worried about both because if they don't show up or are injury-compromised our rebuild is close to dead based on lack of quality players. Right now we have Weitering, Cripps and TDK carrying us which is just too much. Saad, Acres, Harry, Curnow and walsh are required because our transition plan makes our bottom 6 look awful...

Hawks transition game makes their bottom 6 look very useful. This has flow on effects comes trade periods. We never get anything for our players. Soon the Hawks if they offload a player will get a decent return.

A transition style that works efficiently has so many side advantages...

Lead at the footy and otherwise roam the forward 70m of the ground. To the goal square and back and at different angles. That should be Charlie’s MO.

Only one extra handball away?😛 ( d.king's take on First Crack)

Hes not wrong. He showed about 5-6 examples of Carlton players running the ball only to pick from 70-80m out when they had the inboard handball. I guarantee Collingwood hawthorn and GWS would have used the extra out through the middle EVERY TIME.

It was good.

I'm doubling down Vossy!

Out: Young, Docherty, Lord, Haynes, Cowan
In: White, Carroll, Boyd, Moir, McKay

Boyd Weitering O Hollands
McGovern Silvagni Saad
L Camporeale Cripps Acres
Fogarty Curnow Motlop
Kemp McKay White
De Koning Hewett Cerra

Walsh Carroll Cottrell Williams

Sub: Moir

Fogarty and Acres can think themselves lucky. L Campo struggled this week but always tries. Cowan is a good player, but not in a slow back half. He had a stinker.

White is quick. We get burned by speed every week. Then we play a tall side in the wet.
Cowan doesn't get dropped. One bad game and he is out apparently

100%. Don’t understand why Aaron Hamill (who was assistant coach at St Kilda) doesn’t show Charlie the repeat leads a guy like Nick Riewoldt did to have an impact.
