Had been wondering about the no Durham situation. Baldwin, he will make it.
Injured his calf in an intra club, only played a full match in the VFL last week as far as build up goes.

Cheering might have been about Ridley's 50th?

Or Stringer returning?

In the selection video, Rutten seemed to indicate that Wanganeen was near the mark and very close to selection. It would be rough having his debut as an emergency though.

But I can’t see us picking Phillips as an emergency. Nor BZT. Plus given Rutten’s comments about Ham, I can’t see them making him the emergency.

I'd be disappointed if it were Tex. Most likely Ham.

Ham deserved to be dropped but watch them find a way to get Durham straight onto a wing instead of rotting in the forward pocket like Ham.
I hear what you are saying in this. I am not a fan of Ham (the player not the product) but I can not really see the point of playing him as a pressure forward. He is an outside runner. If he plays it should be wing .

I love Devon Ham the product, but both players give me the sh!ts, just like the product

Have stood up for him for a long time, but can’t see a single reason Smith plays over Tex. Time to start playing these kids and holding the senior players up to the same standards as they do the younger guys

I can think of one. Tex has actually only played 1 full game of footy in the last year. Not that I want Smith in the side as I think he is cooked but Tex is not ready to play the role yet.

Berry and Prior not named in the VFL for them amongst their emergencies. I'd imagine they're the two in line for sub. Our VFL side has yet to be named

Stringer in is obviously huge - he can rotate with Shiel and both give us that explosive X-factor at centre clearances. Durham a bonus also - very under rated... I’d love to see Wanga named as SUB - it puts Smith on notice and can’t hurt to give him a taste early season. I think Francis is more likely to start forward than Laverde, and as others have mentioned I think its worth rolling the dice and trying Cox at CHF at some stage in the game….he may just do OK...I think they will line up something like;-

Ridley Stewart Kelly
Redman Laverde McGrath
Heppell Shiel Durham
Perkins Francis Caldwell
Stringer 2MP Smith

Draper Parish Merrett

Bench: Cutler Guelfi Hind Cox
SUB: Wanga
