The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar believes RB Kenneth Walker is "likely" to start "multiple" games in 2022.

Inexplicably using a second-round pick on Walker suggests the Seahawks are unsure of Chris Carson's availability after suffering a serious neck injury in 2021. "Walker should still see a ton of snaps in camp and in the preseason ... and depending on how he looks, there’s a chance he climbs up the depth chart by the start of the regular season," Dugar said. With nothing suggesting pass-catching chops during his college career, Walker would probably be an early-down banger while Rashaad Penny took passing down duties for what will certainly be a run-first Seahawks offense. None of the Seattle running backs hold much fantasy intrigue unless one of them takes over as an every-down back.
I watched a lot of KW III last season, was a difference maker at Michigan state. He'll be a great starter next season.

Ryan Tannehill said, "I don’t think it’s my job to mentor" Malik Willis.

Though the quote sounds harsh, Tannehill would go on to add, "If he learns from me along the way, then that’s a great thing." He's not wrong. Tannehill is understandably focused on putting the Titans in a position to win in 2022, but he could have worded his answer a bit better. Tannehill also said, "We’re competing against each other." This seems to acknowledge the fact that Tannehill is unofficially on the hot seat. Any quarterback change will likely come at the end of 2022 or in 2023, but it's safe to say Tannehill knows the pressure is on.

With the amount of money the titans are paying him he should be willing to do whatever they want him too.

The Panthers fans on reddit and twitter wetting their knickers thinking we have found our franchise QB in the third round need to look at this list... 🤮🤮

Connor Cook started a playoff game against the Texans, he went 18/45 for 161 yards 1 TD and 3 int.

Carr got injured week 16, then Mcgloin I'm the first half of week 17, so he debuted I the wild card game the next week.

The Athletic's Mark Kaboly does not expect the Steelers to re-sign contract-year WR Diontae Johnson.

This is just one man's opinion — and he has been wrong from time to time — but Kaboly's dot connecting is not off base. Aside from a few Antonio Brown exceptions, the Steelers have traditionally been opposed to extending the big bucks to wideouts. Two variables, of course, are the impending departure of GM Kevin Colbert and Colbert's decades-long track record when it comes to identifying wide receiver talent. Colbert's replacement could have a completely different philosophy with Johnson, who turns 26 in July.

Jets claimed OG Nate Herbig off waivers from the Eagles.

Herbig was originally tendered as a restricted free agent in Philly, but the Eagles ended up cutting him loose before he could sign. He was no longer in their plans following the draft. Heading into his age-28 campaign, Herbig has 17 games of starting experience. That is his lone calling card, but that is better than most fringe roster types. He could easily make the rebuilding Jets' 53-man roste

Chargers signed LB Kyle Van Noy to a one-year contract.

The Chargers announced the move themselves on Twitter. Heading into his age-31 campaign, Van Noy has now been let go by the Patriots two times in three years, while the third featured ex-Pats assistant Brian Flores failing to find a productive role for Van Noy in the Dolphins' defense. He nevertheless remained productive for the Patriots in a high-snap role last season, and continues to do a little bit of everything at the second level of the defense. Even at his advanced age, Van Noy is an intriguing movable chess piece for a coach in Brandon Staley who knows what to do with them.

The Athletic's Greg Auman believes it "still feels more likely" free agent Rob Gronkowski re-signs with the Bucs than retires.

The Bucs retained Cameron Brate on a reduced contract and used a fourth-round pick on TE Cade Otton, but GM Jason Licht has already said the team will continue to wait on Gronk. The consensus amongst both the Bucs and team observers seems to be that Gronk will be returning for his age-33 campaign, but as can be the case with some superstars in their twilight, he just needs a little time to get there. Besides the fact that he is, you know, unsigned, we have yet to see anything to suggest Gronk won't eventually lace up in 2022.

Ryan Tannehill said he was "shocked" by the Titans' trade of A.J. Brown to the Eagles.

“When I first found out, I’m like, ‘This isn’t real, this isn’t happening, it’s a rumor,'" Tannehill said. "And then, I talked to A.J. and found out it was real. I slept terrible that night and kept thinking it was just a bad dream, but that’s where we’re at.” It's a little strange for a franchise quarterback to be out of the loop on a tectonic shift in offensive player personnel. Tannehill will now have first-round pick Treylon Burks and Robert Woods as his top two wideouts headed into the 2022 season. Tannehill said he sought out therapy to overcome the emotional and psychological sting of last year's devastating playoff loss to the Bengals -- a game that saw Tannehill melt down with three costly interceptions, the last of which led to a game-winning Bengals field goal. “It’s a deep scar,” Tannehill said. “Every time I closed my eyes, I kind of rewatched the game. I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep for weeks. I was in a dark place, and it took me a while, a lot of work to get out of it." More struggles from Tannehill in the early season could put him on the proverbial hot seat after the Titans took Malik Willis in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Commanders head coach Ron Rivera likened Antonio Gibson and Brian Robinson to the Panthers former backfield of D'Angelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.

Rivera, of course, likens everything in Washington to his Carolina days. But if the Commanders see Gibson as nothing more than one part of a "1-2 punch" alongside rookie Robinson, Gibson probably should've be among the first 15 running backs off the fantasy draft board this summer. J.D. McKissic, who re-signed with the Commanders this offseason, is expected to maintain pass-catching duties, while Robinson possibly eats into Gibson's early-down role in Washington's offense. The Commanders in 2021 had the league's ninth lowest pass rate over expected, so a run-first approach could be valuable for fantasy purposes if Gibson or Robinson emerge as the team's go-to options in 2022.

Deebo Samuel re-followed the 49ers on Instagram.

Samuel, in the midst of protracted contract extension talks with the team, also liked an Instagram post from general manager John Lynch. Adjust your ranks. As silly as it may seems, player's social media activity can offer a window into how negotiations are going. Samuel, in case you missed it, unfollowed the team on social media platforms and scrubbed the Niners from his profile before the NFL Draft. With the team having no intention on trading away their most valuable offensive player, Samuel might be slowly embracing the idea of staying in San Francisco long term. He's scheduled to make $3.97 million in 2022, the final year of his rookie contract. We'll keep you abreast of any and all Deebo social media developments.

Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said any concern about Kenny Pickett's hand size was negated by watching his ball handling at Pitt.

“Honestly, I never paid attention to that,” Colbert said. “We look at the results. We watch Kenny play in our environment. ... Can he throw the football? Absolutely. Did he have an excessive fumble rate? No, he didn’t. We just judge it on how he played.” Colbert previously said the Steelers don't get "hung up on all the analytical measurements" when evaluating players, made clear by their first-round selection of Pickett. Some teams expressed concern about Pickett's small hands and his 39 fumbles in his tenure as Pitt's starter. Pickett will likely compete with Mitchell Trubisky for the Steelers' Week 1 starting job.

Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reports QB D'Eriq King will play a hybrid role in the Patriots offense.

Wilson reported that Patriots director of player personnel Matt Groh told King -- the Miami Hurricanes' starting QB in 2021 -- "he would be given the chance to prove himself in a multidimensional role. King could line up anywhere from quarterback to wide receiver, running back, and as a kick returner." Last year, King passed for 2,686 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions and rushed for 538 yards and four touchdowns before injuring his ACL in Miami's bowl game. King played receiver at Houston before transferring to Miami in 2020; he totaled 58 receptions in two seasons as a Houston wideout. Head coach Bill Belichick could have his latest gadget player in King.

Giants GM Joe Schoen said the team will have a resolution on CB James Bradberry by the end of the week.

This almost certainly means the Giants are cutting Bradberry. The veteran corner has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason, but it has become clear to Schoen that there are no takers. New York will save $10.1 million in cap space if they ultimately cut him at the end of the week. The decision to move on from Bradberry is a financial one, as he was still playing at a high level in 2021. Bradberry logged 17 pass defenses and four interceptions last season.

The Athletic's Zac Jackson believes Browns third-round rookie David Bell "can be a similar player stylistically" to Jarvis Landry.

Landry is currently a free agent after being let go by the Browns in March. Like Landry, Bell did not test well in the pre-draft process, but he was a productive college receiver who brings good size and great hands. If he shows the ability to uncover underneath at the NFL level, he has a path to targets given Cleveland's unsettled depth chart behind Amari Cooper. He could end up being a value in Dynasty rookie drafts.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the Chiefs are expected to begin contract negotiations with LT Orlando Brown.

Brown is currently on the franchise tag for the 2022 season. The tag will cost $16.7 million this year and leaves Brown as a free agent next offseason. With Brown anchoring the left side of Patrick Mahomes' offensive line, there's no way the Chiefs let him hit the open market. All signs point to the two sides reaching an agreement sooner rather than later. Pro Football Focus ranked Brown as their No. 28 offensive tackle last year.

The Athletic's Zach Berman believes Jalen Reagor may still be a trade candidate this offseason.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman was quoted last week saying, "He's a Philadelphia Eagle, and we don't anticipate anything change," in regards to Reagor's status with the team. Despite the Roseman's quote Berman believes Reagor remains a trade candidate, citing him as the third or fourth receiver on the depth chart following the trade for A.J. Brown. A former first round pick from the 2020 class, things have yet to materialize for Reagor in his first two seasons. He's totaled 64 receptions for 695 yards and three scores in 28 games and has averaged 24.8 yards per game for his career. Even if he remains with the Eagles this season, the sun is setting on his opportunity to be a meaningful fantasy producer. Reagor's best chance at revitalizing his career will likely come with another team.
