Whatever zone we are trying to implement, it isn't working. Whether the strategy is flawed, or the players are unwilling/too lazy to implement it (most likely a combination of both), it needs to change.

But the reality is of the 16 times this year a team has had less than 40 tackles in a match, we own 4 of them. That isn't coaching, that is effort based and squarely on the players. The coaches fault is continuing to pick the players who fail to do so with maximum effort.

There are 7-8 players that deserve their spot on merit, the rest you could drop any of them and I wouldn't complain. The efforts against Geelong, Freo and now Sydney have been insipid.

Perkins didnt get a lot of disposals playing mostly half forward, but he kept trying even when we were well and truly done.
