Lol. Like you don't think we're constantly brainwashing our kids. Everything from manners, to behaviour, to belief system - we are brainwashing them to be images of ourselves. You're probably one of those "My 8 year old is a vegetarian, I gave him/her the choice" or "my 10 year old wants to use the pronoun "they". "They" came up with it themselves" types.

Pussy Dads ™. I eat em' for breakfast.

If Simmo were to get sacked at the end of the year my preferred candidate for the top job: John Worsfold.

Hear me out.

Now as we all know, ol' Johnny has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer. He has the tactical nous of a bag of rocks. But - the one thing he is very, very good at is getting a bunch of disparate blokes to buy into a club and play as a team.

The issues we have at the moment are beyond structural and gameplan - we have a serious cultural problem brewing at the moment; players going off at each other during games, guys supposedly "opting out" of training, etc. Before we can run we have to re-learn how to walk, and the best way to do that would be to bring in a bloke who can mould us back into being a side where everyone is on the same page in regards to what is expected of them. Offer Woosh the big chair as an interim coach, let him sort out the playing group's sh*t, then we can look at transitioning into actually being competitive again.

I'd have Woosh as Football Manager in a heartbeat. Wouldn't go near him as a coach - he's too stubborn and not innovative enough (the same problems we have with Simmo).

I don't for one minute think that The Board will sack Simmo at seasons end, however if they did, then this is what I would want them to do.

Carry out an exhaustive search, encourage applicants and then do the proper due diligence and make sure that we get the best applicant.

None of the ******* Old Boys / Boys Club shit.

If we keep doing that nepotistic in house shit then ................ with the way the Club is currently run we will have Todd ******* Nisbett as the Senior Coach.

The West Coast Senior Coaching Position is a plum role and as such will garner a very good batch of applicants.

As Tina said " Simply The Best" and thats what we MUST be striving for.

But in all reality, I believe that Simmo is safe for another year as our Board doesn't have either, the balls or the vision to act immediately.

I still think he is a good Coach and will be successful somewhere else, but he has dropped his guard and allowed the standards to plummet ( not his problem alone as thats whats happened at all levels of the Clubs management )..... now its at a point whereby its going to be extremely difficult to get this group back in harness.

Simmo presser tomorrow which is odd as he doesn’t do it till Thursday normally
Apparently signed a one year extension. Show of faith from the club to him which is a good sign I think as it shows they believe he's the right man for the job, and that with a fit list we can push for finals next year.

He's just been on FoxFooty. Doesn't look like he's going anywhere. He did at least say he was "transitioning the list".

Was nauseating watching him on AFL 360 just now.

Simmo and the same bunch of guys who 3-4 months ago believed we had it in us to have another crack at a flag, which is purely evident based on the fact we have so many 30+ year olds still playing and neglected investing in more youth, have got it so wrong that 3 months later he’s “invested” in a re-build.

If your judgement and self awareness is that bad only months ago, I really don’t have much faith you have any idea what you are doing going forward.

We aren’t fluttering around 8-9th where we’ve had some misfortunes and things haven’t worked out, we’re dead last and getting record breaking hidings every week.

He and the higher up’s can GGF’d

I don't recall anyone saying we were going to win the flag. Pretty much came up with the same positive vibe talk the other 17 teams did. Everyone knew we probably weren't making finals and were starting to turn the list over.
No doubt things have gone pear shaped and with hindsight some players should have retired but that would have had little to no impact on our performance this year.
It really has been the perfect storm of covid, injuries and mismanagement. Part of me wants to piss Simmo off and part of me wants to see if he can turn it around.
He'll get next season to prove his worth, well the first half of the season anyway.

"I have a nice cushie contract, you're going to have to sack me Nissie"

while going on to say how much of a loyal guy Nisbett is and that they have each other's backs
What he should of said is "no comment" because lets face it he's on a hiding to nothing whatever he sez.
