How do we get rid of Nizzy? Anyone know how it works?
It doesn’t. At senior level the Eagles are about as insular as any organisation can be.

I don’t think he’s objectively a bad bloke or anything, I think he would have the good sense to walk eventually, but not before he’ll see himself as up for the challenge of turning things around and giving it a crack.

Problem with the Eagles is they’ve been so good for so long, and been so stagnant off field the entire time, that I’m concerned they don’t even know what they don’t know.

I think he also wants to get Toddy in there and welded in for a 30 year stint too. Campaigner thinks it's a family business.

Essendon with a team full of top ups in 2016 still won 3 games and more importantly, had a percentage of nearly 61% which we could only dream of at the moment.

Our injuries have been bad and covid has played a part but even our current squad should be able to beat Essendon 2016. It's not that hard to not be this bad.

Let's not forget how we underperformed in 2019 and 2020 with full lists to choose from. Simpson teams are not contested, don't tackle, are unaccountable in defence, play a predictable and easily countered brand, have poor workrate, don't play as a team, have no overlap run, slow ball movement and the list goes on. He should have been shown the door at the end of 2021.

Bottom line is Simpson teams are not contested, don't tackle, are unaccountable in defence, play a predictable and easily countered brand, have poor workrate, don't play as a team, have no overlap run, slow ball movement and the list goes on. Plenty of learnings, though.

He's not doing himself any favours by playing blokes like Clark and West out of position.

I want to back him in but he's showing 0 willingness to make the hard decisions and change what is clearly not working.

How many years has it taken for him to finally acknowledge that you can't bring in underdone players? We're finally seeing blokes like Yeo and Sheed being brought in through the WAFL.

Fans are very much over it at the moment and he/the club really only have themselves to blame.

"But but but... Covid!!!"

As if it didn't impact every other team in the AFL the past 2-3 years.

We had how many players out to HS protocols last night again? Someone remind me?

"But but but... no synergy! Unsettled team each week!"

GTFO

I am for booting Simmo off to the salt mines, but the covid issue is a genuine excuse; it is not just numbers, but the inability to train together, and to practice a game plan in simulated trails etc. We were way behind in that stuff when the season kicked off.

Other than maybe North who just don't have a good list (seriously how were they in a similar position to where we are now in 2016 and after 5 years out of finals are just as bad as us now?) it seems to me that every other team in the comp responds to poor performances. Whether it's St Kilda, Carlton, Freo in the top 8 or Hawthorn, Adelaide, Essendon down our way they've all had poor games and been criticised for them and all bounced back to some degree. Hawthorn got pumped last night by Gold Coast which would be disappointing for their nuffy fans, but they rolled Brisbane last week. You can accept inconsistency with a new coach or young side, new players etc. but when you are just shit all the time there's not much to look forward to.

We've been hot garbage for 7 weeks in a row. We were 'OK' against Melbourne (lost by 12 goals) but the highlight was having 61 tackles. Great, so we tackled like a normal team once and then went back to losing to tackle count again the following week in a 52 point loss. If you aren't going to respond after losing by 100 at home, why would you after losing by 100 at home again? We're already down to low 30k crowds with no restrictions. We got down to mid 20s in 2001 playing at Subi which held 43k. Would not surprise me if we end up in the low 20s in the next few games. Doesn't mean much financially given the membership base but it does send a message of how fed up people are with the effort shown so far.

'The standard you walk by is the standard you accept' is usually reserved for mind numbing corporate brainwashing seminars, but very appropriate for WC.

I was watching some of the Pies game today. Last year they were a rabble, looked likely to win the spoon until they jagged a few late wins. Club was in disarray off field with the messy Chairman thing (Eddie forced to resign, new guy doesn't last a year and Brown wins in the end) and Buckley was stale and unable to change. Vets were too old and not much to get excited about with the young guys.

A year later, the new coach has come in and invigorated the place. Attacking gameplan has allowed them to unearth new talent, players look fitter and they are hovering around mid ladder. They've unearthed some good kids from the draft who are playing well.

Sacking our coach will go a long way to turning things around. A new coach will bring their own team and new perspectives. Keeping Simmo won't lead to any change as he flat out refuses to acknowledge and act on the problems. Yes, it will cost a few Million, but we have the cash and are losing profits anyway from such poor performances.

There's a problem with this though. Timing. I'm not looking at Collingwood thinking their imminently going to rise up the ladder and be a flag threat. There's sometimes a cost of being competitive.

But in saying that, I don't think any coach can have us 10-14 next year. I think we can freshen up and still be bottom 4.

I’ve had enough!
I’ve emailed the club.

To WC management,

You are losing the support of the kids, it’s going to cost you big time down the track, financially and with WC’s standing in the community, If these performances are allowed to continue, the damage will be long lasting.
Management becomes stale over time, anyone who’s been around understands this, it’s time to show courage, step aside and hand over the baton to new ideas, new members of the board and a new senior coach.
It’s time to take action.

Yours Sincerely
