Will the AFL look into the Shuey sub? There's been a lot of talk about players getting subbed out and then playing the next week.
One thing that's been suggested that might tighten this up a bit is that once one team activates their sub the other team can use theirs as well.

Alternatively, a replaced player must miss a week. Of course that'll mean an inevitable scream when say Dangerfield makes a miraculous mid week recovery.

This would be a very simple solve. The rule was originally going to be only for a concussion sub, where the concussed player has to sit out 12 days regardless of how they feel. Just make that the rule for every player subbed out.

(Then you just have to deal with teams doing sneaky tactical subs ahead of their bye, or in the grand final).

Dom Sheed will play his first minutes at WAFL level on Saturday, but it could be weeks before he returns to the senior team as he admits he expects to “blow up” at some point on his return. https://bit.ly/3wKMCGI

GOOD!

We need more of our senior players going out to get some match fitness in the 2's and not just for 1 week.

I really don't like this move. I'd much prefer he gain match fitness as the sub at AFL level :drunk:

yeo needs to follow sheed's lead.

play them both in the WAFL, then unleash them after our bye.

knowing our luck kelly & shuey will get injured so we will have to rush sheed & yeo back in.

A mere 15 on that list.

An embarrassment of riches to choose from we have.
If those timeframes are accurate (yes - I know it is unlikely), then we could have 7 more available by the end of the bye round. It would be nice to see players continue to return through the WAFL and a real win if we get over our injury crisis by the back quarter of the year.

Simmo can then have a go changing the gameplan. I'd gladly give up the top pick if we can start showing a new gamestyle and win a couple of games before the end of the year.

Langdon still TBC - are they having trouble finding the ankle? It's the bit between the foot and the leg, doc.

I didn’t pry any further because (a) I feel like they’ve lifted their game a bit lately and (b) honestly it’s Langdon so I don’t care enough.

Calves so big they're having trouble determining what is calf and what is ankle. He's expected to be laid up for another 6 months until he loses enough muscle mass and definition to determine the injury site.
