Didn't a similar thing to this happen last preseason? A bunch of guys ended up in the rehab group, everyone freaked out, Simmo said they were trying to get on top of things early (so not to worry) and then that's pretty much what happened (they got on top of things early). We had a fairly typical year last year for injuries.

Feet are always a worry though.

Edwards is a concern.

One would hope that people calm themselves when every minor ailment is reported throughout pre-season (as the two others are)…

Oops sorry 😂

The bit relevant to West Coast, written I believe by Eliza Reilly

Dom Sheed – foot – Return to main training in January

Harvey Johnston – elbow – Return to main training in January

Tom Cole – finger – Return to main training in January

Harry Edwards – foot – Return to main training in January

Bailey Williams – hamstring – Return to main training in January

Campbell Chesser – calf – Expected to be fit for pre-season matches

Several West Coast stars have been managed in the lead-up to Christmas, including Harley Reid whose summer has been interrupted by a concussion and a flare-up of an old lower-leg injury. Sheed is expected to reintegrate into main training in January after an injury-interrupted 2024 season that included foot surgery. Chesser will build up his program in 2025 after a precautionary load management period pre-Christmas. Edwards reported foot soreness earlier in December and has been placed in a moon boot as a precaution but the plan is for him to be back running in January. His fitness will be crucial after Tom Barrass departed the Eagles in the trade period. Noah Long (knee) and Harry Barnett (calf) both trained on Wednesday while Johnston, Cole and Williams will be back in action in the New Year

My first thought is that some of the return dates are on the optimistic side. Cole, Johnston and perhaps Williams returning in January are likely correct. The others I’m sceptical

Oddly, there’s no mention of Petruccelle and Jamieson who’ve not participated in any drills and half spent the preseason so far working away from the main group

Also, like Long, Yeo, Hough and Hutchinson have only just started back with the main group but they’ve also gone unmentioned
