I don't mind it. Locked away a good ball user for the future. Its not a quick fix to our midfield troubles but there was never really going to be a quick fix to the midfield, especially at the MSD. Get through some delistings/retirements and a trade period and then look to address through the national draft as well.

Both picks make sense to me. only issue is whether to have gone Carmichael with our pick 1 but he will be a B or C grade mid at best. D'ambro offers more upside. Would rather use our pick at end of year to cover midfield, with upside in Hobbs and Perkins already on the list. And hopefully we can snag a FA mid of repute.

Not a huge fan of the D'Ambrosia pick but Menzie makes sense. No big midfielders in the draft at the end of the year makes it even more bizarre.

Finally a small forward. Happy with the second pick.
Overall, not too happy that they overlooked selecting midfield depth. This was the perfect time to take the chance on a player like Carmichael and see what comes from it.

I just know they'll draft a 180cm mid at the end of the year given that many of the top mids are around that height.

Both picks like to scrap it out and make tackles. I like it.

Trade period for bigger midfielder ?
Or we are looking at a workhorse mid. The fact is we do not need a clearance midfielder. Parish and Hobbs can cover that and Shiel as well if he pulls his head in. What we need is just a big bloke who likes to block and bullock.
Despite it not being the number 1 priority we have also lacked run from half back since Saad and McKenna departed.
