I imagine board members, coaches and admin people send & receive these types of texts all the time.

A wise man once told me, never never put anything in writing that could be used against you in a public forum or court...

This was after he lost a case because the wife(plaintiff) had 200 pages of printed text messages which were handed in at a court hearing and cost the defendant about 6 mil....!

Always count to three before you press SEND...!

After 2 years of watching from home, it's no surprise people are comfortable watching their team on TV.

You can blame higher prices, no parking, Covid, umpires and so on but the fact is, people are just more comfortable turning on the TV 10 minutes before the game and switching off 10 minutes after, without all the crap that goes into going to a match. It's now just part of everyday life for Victorians and it will never go back the other way.

As I'm now Sydney based, I've seen it first hand with the NRL up here. People don't go unless it's at their local ground or a final and even then, it's never packed. There is also the fact that there is so much more to do in Sydney on a weekend other than losing a whole day going to the footy, which does align with better weather obviously.

I was in Melb a few weeks ago, the first time since restrictions had lifted and I was in shock with the lack of foot traffic in and around the city on Wednesday. Thursday and especially Friday. Apparently Friday is the main day for people to work from home, with less than 30% of the office space attended any given Friday. Foot patrols for the Police have been pulled back as there is a lack of crime, bars are closing at 7pm, some all day traders are now closing their cafes/restaurants at 3pm, all to save money because of the lack of people in the CBD.

If Sheeds hadn't come out and lit a fire under his old club today, I would say there would only be 60K there on Friday.Maybe Sheedy gets another 20K by having a crack.

In short, the game of AFL will become a TV event, purely because of culture change after Covid. Time to accept it and stop trying to force people to go to the football when they all have 'lives' they want to live....

There is a way to fix it but it takes in reducing teams in Vic!

But they're hardly even enticing people to go.

$42 for a round of four mid strengths is absolute extortion.

1 drink per person after half time at a big game.

Food is just as much as a rip off.

And that's even if you can be bothered lining up for 20 minutes to get it.

No parking allowed at the game.

The user experience at the football is just really poor now. Maybe they want it that way, with pay per view TV rights incoming...

People can't go 2 or 3 hours without alcohol. Heartbreaking stuff.

It's an interesting one to me cause I'm a massive footy fan but i barely ever go to games...but I can watch 4 footy games on a weekend with kayo and this has been from the beginning not covid related.

I enjoy watching on TV more than going to games...especially when it's cold. Then it's also cheaper and save time and energy to do other things.

Added you can cook eat and drink anything you want at home and enjoy it in a warm comfortable safe place. Without annoyances or aggressive people in your face.

The Carlton bandwagon is rectifying this issue as we speak … lol

Melksham calls out May for drinking while concussed.

May tells him they would've lost the GF if Melksham had played and asks him what local club he's playing for next year.

Melksham proceeds to best the shit out of May, a guy recently concussed, destroying part of the restaurant and taking the fight into the street.

Melksham gets nothing while May gets a one week holiday.

Melbourne are weak as piss.
