Hayes hasn’t exactly been dominating though has he?

We got absolutely destroyed against Essendon in the centre square. I think hayes started reasonably well in his first few games but has tired, it’s been tough on him shouldering the load and he has done relatively well and it probably is bit harsh if it is in fact an omission but it also shouldn’t come as a complete surprise.

Depending on your definition of 'ruckman', Geelong and Hawthorn have done so as recently as the last fortnight. However they were forced to do so, not out of choice.

When players miss games because they're in covid protocols, does the website typically say "Illness", "Omitted", or something else? I know people have previously stated they can't comment on a specific players medical issue when that player has covid.

Nfi if that's what's actually going on here, but maybe ... ?
