Hayes hasn’t exactly been dominating though has he?

We got absolutely destroyed against Essendon in the centre square. I think hayes started reasonably well in his first few games but has tired, it’s been tough on him shouldering the load and he has done relatively well and it probably is bit harsh if it is in fact an omission but it also shouldn’t come as a complete surprise.

He had the most hitouts of any ruck in that game, only playing just above 60% gametime.

The essendon team came out knowing they were against a young ruck and targeted him early to try to get on top and they succeeded for all of about 5mins before Sam worked his way back.

He’s at the top end of the stats that are the most important for a ruck, and he’s doing that playing less time on ground.

Why is it that the same posters that say they want us to lose and that they don’t care, are the same ones that lose their minds over one selection change.

If it’s as catastrophic to our chances as many are predicting, isn’t it a good thing then if you genuinely want the team to lose?

Besides the stupidity of having our young future star kf sitting in the spud sanfl just waiting for some fat no name hack to get bragging rights for laying Mitch out in any contest he can reasonably disguise it (and with sanfl umps they’re given a lot of room) losing a tall and replacing them with a medium backman in a team already overstuffed with medium backmen.. **** me.

And then there’s lord.

Is he ready to be a first 22 player picked every week?

No

Is he ready to be a star of the league?

No

Is he ready to play a half of ruck and a half as a moderately serviceable kf who just has to keep his defender honest enough so Dixon and Marshall can do their thing..

Yes.

Easily f**king yes.

What makes this selection so very ****ing dumb is that hinkleys had to go out of his way to avoid all the right things that are practically leaping into his arms to choose the worst possible outcome.

At this point it boggles the mind how he possibly can’t be doing this shit on purpose.

He has been dominating. He had a down game against Essendon, which happens to young players but you play quality players through that.

I don’t think he has been dominating. No one in our team has been dominating. He has plenty of improvement left in him.

Because we realise the more games Hayes plays this season will better develop him (and build his confidence) for future years when Hinkley is gone. That’s why the CD comments also stank, Bergman, Durrsma etc.. need games, not public dressing downs.

Didn't hurt Geelong when they dominated Port in the centre square. Even with Hayes there playing against 0 recognised ruckmen.

By going without a ruckman for this game, whether due to illness or omission, if it’s as bad as what you are saying we are one step closer to the coach being gone then. So shouldn’t you be happy? I’m so confused.
