LDU's continued improvement and emergence is probably the best story in what has been a tough year for the club. Still feels like he has another gear or two to go as he builds confidence and belief in his body, strength, tank, and ability. Seems to becoming a more regular scoring threat as well this season.

If all our under 25s had improved as much as LDU has this year then we would be having a very different season.

Anyone have his stats by quarter? Looked like an ordinary start when the game was affectively lost. Certainly got going later in second quarter and finished off nicely but game was over by then.

LDU was one of the bright spots in the game according to many but you can always trust this poster to shitcan. Do you ever see anything good?

I will admit that I was concerned he’d end up as a b+ player because I couldn’t see the consistency, but he’s getting that and looks like an a grader.

#1 mid for us easily

LDU, along with Curtis Taylor have been most impressive for me in the last few weeks. LDU had a fair dinkum crack yesterday, chasing hard even right to the end. If only all 22 had the same level of desperation, we might actually get within 3 or 4 goals of an opp

LDU definitely our next captain. But I would run with co captains, to take the pressure off the kid a little.

He also played out of the goal square for part of Q1 which took him out of the play for a bit.
Did he?

he should start in the middle and move to the forward line, not the other way around.

Could easily match his scoreboard impact with more shots on goal in a more offensive team. Hard to score goals in a side that scores 6 or 7 a game.

Beats him on pretty much every other stat, with less TOG and 70 games less at the same age. That’s effectively 3 seasons less. The comparison at 60 games would be even more clear cut.

Would like to see a few more people see him for the player he is and is becoming, and to cut the rubbish about no defensive game which is clearly just rubbish.

Enjoy what could become a great NMFC career. Much more fun than potting blokes

I remember a year or 2 ago, someone re did the 2017 draft ( SEN I think)
Not only did LDU not make that team, he wasn’t even listed as an emergency.
Re do that draft again, and I reckon he’s in the starting midfield along with Brayshaw.

LDU - hooks in and goes about his business with determination and an attitude to keep trying no matter what, despite the disaster of a team that he’s surrounded by, goes on to have a career best game and keeps getting better

JHF - sooks it up, turns his back to a 300 game veteran. Doesn’t go for repeat efforts and just stops. Throws a swinging arm in frustration and now may miss a week at the detriment of the team.

Agree re LDU, the naysayers throughout this thread have been proven wrong. As many of us knew they would.

Very harsh on JHF, though. Do we really need to join the scumbag football media's pile-on? FFS, he's a passionate 18yo. He'll be at least as good as LDU in 3-4 seasons but understandably he's struggling with how his first half season has panned out. You only need to read this board to realise must of us are struggling similarly.

Yeah maybe a bit harsh, but just wanted to show the difference. JHF could take a lot from how LDU went about it on Sunday

Different players at different ages. That being said, they clearly both give a shit - which is more than can be said for most of our senior players for the past 10 or so years.
