The next few months are brutal. US Open this weekend alongside the swimming Worlds starting off. Tour De France/Wimbledon in a fortnight into Athletics world champs. Will probably need to get Covid so I can isolate properly.

Definitely keen to watch some TDF and Wimbledon in particular, but I can’t hack late nights anymore. Getting COVID is undoubtedly the premium play here.

Great effort by Nature Strip at Ascot overnight. The only other horse in the frame was riderless! Brained them…
I forgot it was on and just watched the replay on YouTube.

Wow! Totally brained them indeed

Today was a good day.

The weather was crap but I got to train, BBQ steak, and watch a slapstick movie with crude humour that was so bad it was good (Get Hard w' Ferrell & Hart).

Fetchingly cold here atm. Mrs35 wants to venture to the snow on the weekend but managed to veto that idea. Got onto a couple of gummies for a feed the other day despite the low night temps and my lack of enthusiasm for the cold nowadays. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit sunnier and warmer so I’ll take the Yak up to my fave flattie spot and get a few hours in and catch a feed. Lunch at the Tathra pub on the way home.
Saw Jurassic, was a movie I guess. Finished a couple of books off this past week, The Football Factory and a Coben one can’t think of the name but always a skip through read his stuff.
Enjoying watching the boys turn into a football side and some fresh talent emerging, it’s invigorating.

You've got it all worked out, Jimmy.

I bought a biography of Warhol a while ago, but only now can I see a sliver of time for a pretentious unmanly man to read the life of a pretentious unmanly man.

Collingwood footy has become more fun, and I suspect some of the older players are enjoying the shift.

Is that a horizontal IPA in the door shelf? Did you have to tie jmac70 up to get it from him?

Yes. I did tie up jmac70 but more for the purposes of recreationbelly button lint extraction. The IPA was bait.

If it is it's a bloody big can!

I'm a bloody big horse. And big Clydesdale horse deserves a big hoppy beer. And the best hoppy beer is IPA...

Something for you and something for the the other horsey. Perfect!

I get the syringe full of dewormer and he gets the rest

Made leek-potato-leek soup tonight with a splash of soya sauce because I was bored

I am at home by myself

Naturally, I dispensed with a spoon and am drinking straight from an Asian-style noodle bowl

The soup goes in much faster

Every day a veneer of civility peels back as I approach optimal productivity

Men were once proud to be grubs, for the simple convenience and manliness of it.

Now we feel the need to dress it up as a productivity initiative.

What has become of us?

I remember my first fishing trip with Dad, uncles and cousins

Was 7-year-old gobsmacked as my uncles detonated raucous, thermo-nuclear farts around the campfire

One uncle was a huge unit - would have baked a wombat if it wandered past
