We've got to reintroduce a bit of chaos to our forward entries and when the opportunity is there get it in there before numbers flood back.

The really telling thing with our lack of confidence is how often we have the opportunity to move it but guys are stopping and apparently of the understanding that they're supposed to slow it down. If I see someone have the ball 60-70m out in the middle of the ground and kick it sideways out to the wing again I will spew. Everyone who has played footy at any level knows how much easier it is to defend in the back 50 if the entries are coming from over the mark kicks instead of from players running through the middle of the ground.

We need to forget the idea that we only win games through weight of forward entries and locking the ball in, and re-focus on what our strengths up forward are:
1) Fritsch is clearly our forward with the best craft and needs to play deep with the aim of getting it to him quickly while he's on the move.
2) Kosi is very dangerous in the 50 with any space at all.
3) Brown is very difficult to defend 1v1 as long as he's got room to move and doesn't get into a wrestle.

We're currently playing a game style which actively denies us EVERY ONE of these strengths, in favour of a game style which makes them all very average players. We have to get the three of them playing deep and working together to make sure their are leading options for the ball carrier coming through half forward. Then the obligation is on the players further up the field to keep the ball moving and kick it to their advantage.

B: Hibberd - May - Petty
HB: Salem - Lever - Brayshaw (Bowey)
C: Jordon - Oliver - Langdon
HF: Bedford (ANB) - Jackson - Spargo (Chandler)
FF: Kosi - Fritsch - Brown
R: Gawn - Trac - Viney

I: Bowey - ANB - Chandler - Harmes

Sub options: Sparrow, Rivers, Thommo, Turner

Spot on. Fritsch and Brown should be having 8+ set shots between them a game and the only wag to do it is kick it to them 1 on 1 with space.

You can swap players in and out but if the gameplan from the coach is to focus on defense first and push the zone deep down the ground then it doesn't matter who plays.
We have slow movement back into our forward line or no forwards there when we get a turnover.
I think this is a gameplan problem more than a player problem and it will only change when Goody changes it.

Take me back to being 25-30 points up against Freo and the prospect of going 11-0, wtf dees.

Definitely need one of Brisbane and Geelong, confident we'll go in strong against Adelaide, Port and the Dogs, which makes that Freo away match huge.

I agree largely with this, and also I wouldn't like to show my hand, by playing the main game-style right thru the season, giving opposition teams the time to work it over.

Keep the main game style under wraps, until 5 weeks out from finals.

Perhaps private text messages from all club’s board members, coaches, etc. should be made public to further this discussion. I wonder if the JOURNO releasing this stuff and the likes of Caroline Wilson and other AFL media types would be ok with their private text messages being made public, presume they would be fine with it.

Saw that, Bartlett saying he tried to keep illegal drugs out of the melbourne demons? wtf?
F**k you dickhead nothing like some male bonding over a BIG NICE FULL bag of pingers, powders and hallucinogenic drugs.
That's important.

****wit. Best thing Dees ever did is getting rid of that flog.

Who would have the most horrifying munted face at the club? Harmesy and his teeth with some dinner plate pupils would be a sight.

Forgot the obvious candidate

Again, Caro has actually defended Goodwin/Roffey through this and been quite critical of Bartlett.
