If Schofield was treated as poorly as was alluded to on here I would think poorly of him if he did come back here.
Schoey knocked back offers from Adelaide and WCE prior to coming to Port. I would see him at games with Taj as a little kid in his Port guernsey. Ever thought he may love the club?

Depends who treated him poorly. Once that person(s) is gone, why wouldnt he come back?

Russell stayed away from the club until Weber was gone. Bartlett wouldnt go back to Richmond until the last of 3 or 4 people he had an issue with had left. Neither stopped loving their club, just didnt want to publicly be associated with it until certain individuals left.

Hey whilst Kochie is in London for his kids wedding, it would be great to have a chat with Clarko if he happened to be in Europe.

You want to get Clarko here......................or scare him away?

I'd be keeping boofhead well away from anything to do with the selection of our NEW COACH FOR 2023

Exactly. We've all been treated poorly by thr current coaches and admin but we still love the club.

Maybe he just wanted to give his son some fresh air without being coached by his dad. I’ve seen him a few times at Alberton this season. Once even with Ken. I’m sure his feelings are fine.

You can add to that list though.
Let’s say you pick up Zurhaar and Amon.
Then another mid who wants to play with Clarkson. Then draft well this year and add another ready to go mid.

Would not take much.
Nah. St Kilda's problem is aside from Steele (and potentially King in future) they have a list full to the brim of B+ footballers who are good enough to keep you competitive but without any of the absolute star quality you need to win flags. Amon, Zurhaar and anybody else they could hope to pick up in free agency will only add more B+ players to the pile. They need a higher quality of good players, not quantity.

If Clarko isn't possible I'm very open to Don Pike. Got the Tingles to a GF with a list that wasn't the AFL's best and then was a scape goat for the 'Camp'.
Now at Sydney gaining more IP. Was at WC when they were very good as well.
2017 Adelaide was a pretty decent side

Forward line of Walker, Betts, Cameron, Jenkins. Lynch was etremely potent.

It wasn't shit, but it wasn't a top 2 list. Pike got the list to a higher position than it 'should have' 'on paper'. We have the reverse.

A good club will pick up Zurhaar next year and he will be AA.

They were clearly not awful, but they had a list that screamed September also-rans if you look at each of the player's overall careers - if Ken had coached them he would have said they were a "good team", not a "great team", and would never have gotten through the unique challenge of Geelong in the prelim. That they entered a grand final as favourites is an incredible effort by their coaches.

Its one of the reasons why I want Campo so much - he took a midfield of Crouches, Laird and Sloane to be arguably competition best.

Port need a Magpies coach that "expects to win" (ala Andy Uptons song for the Port Magpies played before games from the 70's and 80's) and settles for nothing less. I'm sure Lokan is a good bloke but even when we are not decimated with injuries and have no excuses the Maggies lose games they should win. Then we hear how the other team had more class etc. bla bla bla. As the cradle for developing hardened Power players, it is failing and I'm sick of seeing meek performances and hearing acceptance of good efforts by the coach when the standards for that grading are too low.

Mark Williams would be the ideal coach for the Maggies to teach and develop our younger players but I doubt we could get him to come back in a lower role. Surjan has shown a lot with North, maybe its time to welcome him back.
