What is illogical is attacking people for suggesting Amon wouldn’t value chad’s opinion of the club.I’m not saying it’s necessary, but if that is what the club chose to do, who would be up in arms about it?
Chad was a gun at Port for 7 years. No doubt. Unfortunately his 4 years with us have been well below that standard.
So why keep a guy on the slide we were happy to trade when he was under contract in order to lure Amon?
It’s illogical because:
1. Nothing to suggest Amon wants to play here due to Wingard having been here;
2. Wingard’s output has been cruelled by injury;
3. The club looked at trading him 12 months ago when he had a year to run on his contract; and
4. No new contract is on the table with 7 weeks to the end of the year.
So if Wingard was getting paid, say, $700k/year and that’s off our books for 2023, then there’s more money to lure Amon across
