Top bloke.

Very over the top gay (don't come at me, just a fact)

He was an event manager at a company (very well known one) that I worked at.

Probably worked together for about 12 months when I saw him pop up on a gif. Came into work and was like 'you aren't going to believe this but I saw you as a gif'. He laughed and me and said he had been a gif for a few years

Apparently he would get hassled at bars all the time with people saying 'thats you'. Kind of embrassed and owned it. Was pretty common for him to be in selfies with drunk people (his claim to fame)

Gif is from Australia has got talent or one of those type of shows

Drafting a key forward will almost certainly have no impact on our side in its premiership window so reaching for one in the draft would be stupid.
Agreed - unless there's someone useful up for trade or who we can shake loose - we're basically going to have to work with what we've got.

I don't think it solves the problem anyway - BBB and TMac we're more than adequate last year, but we were working better further up the ground.

Hate the Grundy idea. He and Gawn wouldn’t coexist well on the same field.

If we have spare $$$ we need a KPF and/or speedy midfielder with a great kick

Agreed, no interest in Grundy.

Give me a good key position forward any day of the week

That's classic.

If we do lose Jackson I can't really get on board with the get Grundy idea. It would be similar to when we tried to play Preuss and Gawn in the same team, I think we lose too much ground level ability. I also think taking on all or most of Grundy's salary would hurt us being able to retain other players on the list. Given where our window is at if we do lose Jackson a deal like the one where we got May for Hogan would make the most sense for us. I agree that if we hit the draft and pick up a young key forward it doesn't really help us much in the short term.

Putting aside the top echelon Cameron/Curnow/McKay/Naughton/King x2, who are the key forwards we would actually want if we could target anyone for a trade?

Seems to me there's not that many around. Aside from Larkey I can't think of many who have shown enough to want but not so much they're ungettable.
The other types are real underperformers who have shown a bit here and there and would be no guarantee to be better than Weid.

Anyone got other suggestions?

Id say there isn't any that aren't stupid suggestions.

Really you've got Amartey, McDonald, Lobb, Riccardi, Himmelberg x2, Ratugolea,

Yep that's about what I could come up with - maybe Fogarty as well in that category.

Wish Ratugolea was better/less injury prone. Amartey shows a bit but you wouldn't want to give too much away for him. McDonald would be good but very unlikely to get him.

Maybe we just have to hope JVR is the man. We'll need some kind of answer for our second ruck though.

I reckon Adelaide have another one who doesn't get a game aswell but yeah that's your list. I would never have thought McDonald was a chance but he's in the reserves and Sydney are gonna keep buddy as well as Reid. Surely one of Amartey and him are gettable especially if they bring in Dusty. Someone's gotta shake loose.

Bulldogs are going to have Naughton, Ugle-Hagan, English, Sam Darcy, Bruce, probably Lobb on their list next year.
Will they be looking to flog off Bruce cheap? Might be worth a look as a Plan B on a 1 year deal if so.

Nah he's like a shit Brown. Don't think he improves us at all and Sam Darcy I thinks playing as a back now.

I agree with TopKent in that reaching for a key forward is a bit of a waste considering they'd usually take 5 years to develop anyway. There's a lot of importance placed on JVR's development going forward.

he's a dud in my opinion. he's slow and doesn't work hard enough. He's got a terrible turning circle. I would offer them a 3rd rounder for him, nothing more.
Got a feeling Adelaide might not do that deal. But I’m really not committed to this trade it was a random thought bubble

Why do you want to shorten our premiership window, by not taking kids with picks; and mature top ups with those we won't really use.

I think we have seen a natural way about Weide in his 2nd ruck forays.
I think he can grow into that 2nd ruck role, by putting on extra kilos, around his upper legs and hip region; to become a little more the shape of his grandad.

I reckon 2nd ruck, come tall power-forward, is his style. The extra strength will aid him holding his ground and his confidence. He is just too beanpole atmo, to compete up forward against teamed defenders.

Longer-term for our tall forwards, BBBrown and Ben King come out of contract at end of 2024. Swap the Bens... That's where to aim for the tall forward; but still taking a tall kid from approaching drafts.
