It was a free kick every day - disgusting decision and the ump should be dropped. AFL agrees now which is rare.
The first action was not a free, they agree the second action was as Redman continued with the high tackle.

I find it funny Mason Cox is carrying on about how the Collingwood ducker didn't get a free trying to discuss the rules.
This bloke literally doesn't know the rules, When he plays he is headless out there, it's a comedy.
Learn the rules you lanky bastard.
Thought it was funny seeing Cox show concern over umpires not protecting Ginnivan's head based on the non-decisions over the last 2 weeks and particularly this week.

Considering he's so worried about Ginnivan's head, I'm assuming Cox was also having a chat to Jack when he was putting his own head in the line of danger several times a week, dropping at the knees at the smallest chance of physical contact to try and draw the free kick.

For the record, I thought the initial call was play on, but Redman continuing to hold the head lock was probably too much.

Reminds me of when I dislocated my shoulder and was unable to play for the rest of the season. I became an "assistant" coach and one role I had was to do the 3-2-1 for B&F. I reckon I would have done over half the season's games. We had a guy in the team who went on to become the Australian Olympic hockey team goalie, but he was pretty good at footy and damn, I gave him quite a few "3 vote" games.

I was completely silent on my voting as well - I sealed the envelope, signed it and handed it over as instructed.

I was pretty shocked with the B&F result that season.

It reminded me of the footy club meat raffle at the Broadbeach hotel. The footy club would sell tickets to all of the holiday makers and tourists then draw the prize. It amazingly always went to one of the locals. The probability of a tourist winning the prize was less than the odds of Tattslotto Division one.
Did you play for Broadbeach?

It was a free kick. I can't stand the kid and I hate Collingwood - but he was dudded. AFL trying to soften to outrage. Disgraceful decision.

Ginnivan has changed his Instagram profile pic of the high tackle. He’s a troll.

🤣 How I long for those days sometime in the future where umpiring decisions might have a bearing on the outcome of NMFC games!
Why does this give me nightmares about a certain prelim?

An article worth reading, raises some good points on development and rule changes impacting our rebuild.

Better read than most of the crap written about NMFC on that website, there are some real idiots writing for that site who hate us more than Caro.

Nope - and AFL has admitted an error. But no matter what is said, to me it was a terrible decision.
I'm not going to try and change your mind, because you're entitled to your opinion.

But, what the AFL admitted was wrong was the secondary action after the tackle went to ground, where Redman continued to pull on his neck.

They said Ginnivan was responsible for the INITIAL contact.

The below pic is what they got wrong.

I think it’s fairly obvious that the AFL have adopted a “short, sharp - knock it on the head” to any issue deemed to be problematic. I can fully understand their rationale, even though it causes tumult during the “focus”. Right now, they’re just trying to make players think twice about playing for free kicks. Ultimately, after a couple of weeks of this, things will revert to normal.

If the umpires and AFL are going to make mistakes with this one, I'm OK with it if they err against the bloke dropping at the knees or lifting their arm. I have no sympathy for anyone who misses a few frees but has that as a 'skill' in their game.

Gotta stamp that crap out.
