Autopsy Out of our misery

We've worked so hard as a club to get to 50,000 members. I'm scared to think what our membership may drop to next year after such a horrible year. I think the club will need to get creative with our membership accounting.

But I will buy mine again as I always do. I'm a sucker for punishment

Only got "50k" members because the club started selling single game, 2 game memberships as well as counting baby and pet memberships, in reality we'd be struggling to get 20-30k actual members if you counted the individual people rather than the multiple memberships.

I'm still wondering how/why we got Spangher to be our forwards coach. Nothing against the guy personally, but he had a couple of admin roles in clubland and suddenly he's handed the keys to Marra/Naughts/etc?
Well whose idea do you think that was? Pretty obvious how it came about Mofra.

Put this down to our much vaunted midfields inability to stay in games for long periods, their inability to swing momentum back in its favour and their diabolical skills by hand and foot today. As well as a general looseness across the ground that often had players guarding grass and not an opponent.

As infuriating as all that is. Its the diabolical way we we set up at stoppages that seems to give free reign to our opponents with an open avenue towards goal. Along with our inability to handle teams intent on pressuring our ball carriers, for me has been the glaring issue with our side all season. Why Beveridge hasn't addressed or found a work around for this just beggars belief.

Its been a constant be it at centre bounce or stoppages around the ground. This leads to some of the easiest inside 50's with forwards leading straight at an unpressured ball carrier that any team will ever see. Contrast this with the shambolic, often wide, over possessed and crab like manner in which our forwards have to work with. Its little wonder that Lobb was on world record pace in the first half. He was getting some of the sweetest delivery that any forward could possibly ask for. Even when forced out towards the boundary. Once again seeing the key defenders got slaughtered by our midfield. The only thing that changed after half time is that Lobbs kicking went a little off and Freo shifted to other forwards leading straight at the ball carrier or standing on their own.

They had plenty of options.

Bevo is wasting the midfield, wasting Nuaghton, and will waste JUH as well. Time's up.......and then a voice in my headsays: "Two GF's, one premiership". Dammit Bevo never been so conflicted, for anyone knows he'll pull a GF from 6th next season.

Maybe if we can just get a few more ex-Hawks and St Bede's players and coaching this offseason it will push us back into contention

A couple of players from Footscray VFL side who crack in and we’re set

That'll be the plan.

We had 3 on 1 in the area Lobb marked, until we cleared space for him to run into.

It was very strange. Wasn't a real gut busting lead from Lobb either, just jogged past into an acre of space.

Looked like a miscommunication where Cordy thought Keath was going to switch and take the Lobb lead and then it looked particularly awful when he didn't. Was one of a number of embarrassing moments from the team today. Don't think it'd be fun watching the review.

11 seconds of our defensive zone.

5 guys not looking at the ball carrier or worse still with their backs to him.

Nobody actually manning the mark.

3 guys manning grass and **** all else.

Lots of space in front of Lobb and even more out the back.

So Bulldogs. So fantastic.✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓

It is a couple of years ago now, where Cordy managed negative 13 ranking points, the only time I have ever seen a minus score, haven't bothered to look at rankings today, but he is the worst player in Senior Football, how can they play him again. Josh Scache was a number 2 draft pick and he can't get a game ahead of Cordy, you have to be kidding Coach.

If they reviewed any game from last year’s GF onwards we wouldn’t continually be subjected to this shit.

I wouldn’t bet much on there being a proper review, because that would necessitate a critical assessment of the coaching.

Chris Grant the football director has to go he is very close to Bevo and we need a fresh approach
100%. I cannot help but think he has been given that role for an extended period due to the fact he was a bloody champion and loyal to the club like no other, not because of his executive nous.

Except the review will be excerpts from some obscure Macedonian philosopher from 600BC who’s poetry will light and inspire. (I hate to mock and I loved 2016 but faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak I’m pissed with this year). Someone actually f’ing coach these blokes please.

I dont think there will be a football review , if you can't afford to pay decent assistant coaches due to the soft cab rules a review is going to do Jack

Thread needs much more Garcia love.

Had one bad clanger, otherwise he had a great game.

Willing to take anyone on, including ruckmen. And hammers them.
I like him. He's a goer. In a good side he'd be an asset.

Hey, lay off the pet members! My cat is a more loyal Bulldogs member than some who post here!

That’s the crux of it. Maybe the club really needs to look into why we lost those key assistants who had an impact

Sam Darcy was excellent, really liked his game.

Ed Richards was again fantastic.

Bruce obviously had the best game he’s had since returning.

Can‘t think of too many other positives.
