giantroo source saw him in Adelaide on the Friday. It's not unpossible he's over there Friday and comes back Friday night or Saturday morning for his kid's game.

It was realistic and probable until about 5:30 Sunday evening.

As soon as a big club entered the market it was over.

It’s not Sonja’s or the clubs fault. We are what we are. The smallest club in Melbourne. That 65% of the afl world want to cease to exist. I don’t see why that’s the case but unfortunately it is.

They say insanity is doing the same thing again and again expecting a different result. Maybe that’s why we have been such good innovators over a long period of time. Necessity.

But if you haven’t learned your lesson from Brian cook, dusty, Kelly (twice), gaff and now clarko, you’re not living in reality. Anytime a big club wants something north want, they will get it.

The sad part is that given all decades of cheating, inability to even win one final, players walking out, sacking coaches just appointed etc, clarko will pick * and would have had more success at North imo.

But us believing that doesn’t make it happen unfortunately.

Mate you are right to a certain extent on many of the points you raise.

However yet after another shocking year onfield, and yes this is coming from me who is one of the harshest critics on here, I think you are being unnecessarily pessimistic.

Some of those points you raise I don't think have any bearing on whether Clarko will or won't sign with us.

It's a lot of 'white noise' and I maintain we will get Clarko it's just a matter of timing the announcement.

By all means quote me if Clarko chooses a different club over us, I will be more than prepared to say I was wrong.

Of course, he's entitled to hear them out. But if we go by the time he's taken with us and GWS, this will be a long process taking weeks which in our situation given we've got player contracts issues, no coaching short list etc is unacceptable.

He could easily say no to us, explore Essendon and decide he doesn't want to coach at all.

He's not an idiot, he knows that players will start to be de-listed just a week from now, so if he wants any control over a playing group, he can't wait a few weeks. I think he has to make a quick decision - literally this week. So if he's spent a month talking in great detail about our club, our list and potential assistant coaches, it would be a huge risk to jump on to Essendon within 48 hours. And I don't think he's that dumb.

So if the stuff that has gone down with Essendon in the last 24 hours had not happened, Clarko would be ours. Surely North need to come out and say one way or the other soon. Then we can all move on and the club can go to plan b because there has to be one just in case you would think.

If Puma hadn’t put $200k on the table to sponsor Dusty he would be ours as well…!
