With our difficult fixture and bad start to the year, do we tank? No hope of making finals.

West Coast are half a game in front of us.

I don’t see the need to bring back Ebony and if some of the players are carrying injuries then give a break.

I don't think we will need to try and lose to not win. We fumble, turn it over too much.

I notice the AFLW site won't publish stats on total turnovers - I suspect it will be upwards of 70 per side per game. We don't punish enough the other way.

Finals are out of reach simply due to the draw now

No point tanking though as we likely still end up ahead of West coast and that's the only thing that matters, hopefully AFL eases up on priority picks for them if we don't make finals

I noticed a lot of possessions seem panicked and get disposed of with out a proper look and of course many go straight to the opposition.

Would be better of take that fraction more time to asses and find a solid option, even if it means getting caught with the ball more often.

We will beat Hawks and Swans.

West Coast will beat the Hawks.

If the Eagles beat the dogs at home, then is no point to win against the Pies.

Did anyone else notice that wayward last throw boundary throw- in yesterday after Miller did that quick kick into the pocket.
The ball was about 20m around from the point post and by the time the boundary ump threw it in the contest was on the line of the 50m arc totally in favour of West Coast.

What's the rule there for boundary umps. When they're throwing it in from the boundary are they supposed to line the throw with the centre of the ground - but then when they come in 10m the angle kind of changes.

I think it was just a bad throw with a bit of a wild swing at the end but it could have been costly for us.

They're obviously moving to a more chaos style gamelan, with moving it on quickly prioritised over moving it on carefully.

It was a noticeable shift yesterday after quarter time, we really took it on, playing on relentlessly.

I think that's a good way to go, especially for a younger team. Simplifies the decision making and we just need to work on getting numbers around the ball carrier and two way running into defence to mitigate the higher number of errant disposals.

It was the early style under Cooper and has been the most potent method we've used.

We really need to work on the decision making when we don't have the ball now.

Too many times we're passive and caught way behind the oncoming marking contest. Then having to scramble to get there and subsequently not judging the flight and miss having a backstop player when the ball carries the pack.

I didn't catch it, but I did notice we had them holding the ball a number of times and it wasn't picked up or called. I think maybe....just maybe the umps were trying to "encourage" a more free-flowing game, but you have to call the rules. We might have gained a bit more momentum and kicked at least an extra goal if it was adjudicated properly. Anyway....we won, so that's better than not I guess

Yeah, I think the umps were pretty consistent with that one, although they let the rule extend to incorrect disposal and letting players pretend they were trying to dispose like the one near the end of the game where Swanson was held upright and was repeatedly punching without much power at a ball that she had tucked under her arm.

I missed the game - how did she go? I saw a pic and she looked a bit out of shape.
5 touches and a goal

It's an awkward one because there are likely factors at play and in general I've not been brought up to comment on peoples weight but she is atleast a semi-professional athlete.

I think I'll just leave it at, if everyone else is being held to a standard then its not fair for one player to not be

I meant more she didn’t have the typical physical shape you’d probably expect from a (semi) professional athlete. It certainly wasn’t meant as a slight on her weight. As a non-athlete I’d be thrilled to be her shape! 🥺

I hope she does well, I’ll always like her as a player, and respect her for what she’s been through to come out the other end to be able to do what she loves once again.
