Women's Footy AFLW Season Seven

I thought Mik West played a decent game too. I would have had her second best behind Lewis for them.

I think Quazar summed it up pretty well. Thought our standouts were Miller and Turbo of course, but Tighe was great, Lally is definitely showing some good signs, Drisco is such a dependable defender - in fact the whole backline stood up and held the line from that early onslaught by them. Franklin is going to be a player, Kauffman is a bull, Verrier is all class, and I thought the cool heads of Pugh, Stannett and Seth kept some of the younger girls settled. And FINALLY - we held on to some good marks. That’s been a clear weakness over the start of this season.

Maybe not this year, but I can see that there will be improvement to come from within the group over the next year or two.

she should still be playing here. I saw a pic of her on Melbourne's page before the season started in their training photos....she looked miserable as sin. I hope the change of scenary works out for her given her 'troubled' upbringing and all the anxieties she's endured, but damn....she's a Docker and she should still be here. Proper enigma that one

It was supposed to be an 8 week injury and she did it in the first scratchy I think, so she should be back in a week or two but I think there’s no chance of that. I saw a pic of her last week maybe on her Instagram and she still had a brace on her leg. I’d say it’s likely we write the whole season off for her. And Kara.

I was at a scrimmage at MRP between Freo & WCE this morning.

Eb was running straight lines and moving well to my eye. In footy boots.

Kara also there but not running.

Probably 4 weeks away?

Congrats on the derby win- that was a good game to be at. Still too poised for us at crucial times. Hayley Miller - off a one single training session Pre-season is a genuine star of the game

Tennis players possibly get a head start with their acute decision making under pressure and a definitive attack on the ball when it's in front of them. Both areas lots of other players can struggle with.

Was a good game to get down to today, I strolled in with no hat and sunnies thinking "I'll sit on the good side of the ground so it won't matter" and they closed the bloody good half of the ground?? so everyone was in the sun and staring at the sun all day...


I get thats the broadcast side so they want a crowd in the background but jesus, way to make it worse for the spectators...

Only 2 food stalls and 2 bars was pretty average too for a 6.5k crowd... 20 minute wait on food


Other than that, good game, thought Tighe should have won the medal as Miller rushed a lot of kicks and Tighe was the difference but I guess it usually goes to a mid

I believe she's a huge Richmond supporter

But she could make the jump I reckon. Of course I wasn't being entirely serious, but I think the point you made about the tennis skills/elite focus etc was an interesting one; that drive too. The women have shown you don't necessarily have to have come through grass roots footy to get to this level. I think Cuthbertson was a tennis girl, no?!
