Otherwise very normal work colleague who just happens to be a Richmond supporter coming out with "you guys have had an easy run through the finals" and "your home ground is unfair to other teams" gear this morning.

Sure bud, the team that you guys couldn't beat and a rabid Collingwood at the G was an easy run. Now, if we had played Richmond, then I'd agree it was an easy run.
Update on this bloke;

"Worst game I have ever seen".

When I said we were clearly the best team in it this year, he said "nah you weren't, the AFL had to cheat to get us out of the finals. you would have been so relieved not to play us in the prelim".

So.... wonder what his username is.

So after all is said and done ... how does Mr Indenial ..explain the biggest break down in defence fundamentals that I can remember in living memory. AFL fault too? Afte rth AFL error they were still in front with only min left to go.

There were at least three times in the GF that exemplified a big difference in philosophy of gee v rich . For geelong we saw two geelong guys going up for the same ball try to mark it. Not ideal but try to mark it is our way. Rich way ... 5 guys in the square ..all trying to punch the ball ..and it goes to Daniher who kicks a goal off the pack goal.

If he think that his 2022 side scared anyone then he is the pharaoh of denial

I keep telling Richmond fans the Lynch miss was a goal and they would have creamed us at the G

Makes them blow a gasket! 😆
What will make them blow a gasket even more will be links to Round 6 2007.
And with the following message: A HEARTFELT THANKS FOR WHEN IT ALL BEGAN. WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU.

Hardwick is currently the biggest whinger of a coach there is.
He's a disgrace. Whole season his club failed to win the easiest of games and absolutely flubbed their chances. Then when they finished exactly where they deserved to finish, he focuses on one umpiring decision as if that was the main reason they didn't make the Grand Final. Zero perspective, Richmond-centric thinking. Just like Caro. One-eyed idiots.

I couldn't help myself, went over for a look at the Richmond board...

Good lord, it is just sad. They live on another planet. Perhaps it's a byproduct of their recent success bringing teenagers to the forum who drown out the older, more civilized ones that must surely exist... I didn't even have to go digging - it's just a free flowing firehose of delusion and hatred.

Glad we ruined their long weekend, their year, and apparently to some of them, their lives.

Yet they're apparently 'rent free' in our heads. Delusion is so hilarious

I agree. It is genuinely worrying.

What I’m reading about conflicts of interests between hocking and the afl is laughable.. on the main board mainly from tiger fans.

Apparently a rule change was passed onto the cats earlier than other clubs.

It’s ridiculous because earlier in the year it was Geelong will choke in finals like usual etc etc. just let us enjoy it and be good losers.

I'm still trying to work out the logic that the changes were designed to help us. Weren't we too slow and too old and move the ball too slowly? So surely speeding up the game was going to work against us, not for us?

After reading the last few pages of this thread i headed over to the Richmond board to see for myself...

Last night after the game, when we were all getting shitfaced at the pub, a guy wearing a lot of Collingwood gear walked in and just started singing their theme song at the top of his lungs. Really belting it out. When he was told by the whole bar to shut up he began to argue with anyone in ear shot about how this cup really was Collingwoods, goal reviews are a conspiracy, the AFL hates Collingwood etc etc.

That nuffy is the real world personification of what the Richmond board is. A total collective delusion that they are in some way entitled to a flag each year and if they dont win it, it is a conspiracy perpetrated by the AFL/Geelong/Santa/The Easter Bunny on them to advance the cause of the Reverse Vampires take over of the AFL.

I highly suggest heading over and reading their oppo thread, i thought only beer can make a victory taste better, but i was wrong, that thread adds substantially to the enjoyment.

The best part is if the AFL is so scripted, so corrupt, and so anti-Richmond.....why the **** do they follow it so dearly?

Not to mention that the AFL was apparently squeaky clean in 2017, 19, and 20. It's only before and after that the corruption really set in.

You know when someone says, “I have it on good authority...” they are talking 100% shite

'Good authority'

AKA my mate down at the local who was 10 beers deep when he heard from some guy who heard from some other guy with a mullet who might have been Bailey Smith that Tom Stewart isn't well liked. Can't be sure though.

After we won our three flags, all I remember is us looking back happily and contentedly on our achievements. We really DID something during that time, and we were proud of it. As it became obvious another flag wasn't immediately forthcoming, there was a general acknowledgement that this group had been fantastic, but it was time to move on and reset.

Pretty sure Hawthorn fans were the same. A year or two after their threepeat, there seemed a general acceptance that they'd squeezed every last drop from the orange, and many of their fans seemed to have whole-heartedly embraced the rebuild with kids.

I honestly just can't understand why Richmond supporters aren't doing the same. They had a good run, just enjoy and appreciate it for what it was. But they seem so unhappy and bitter about everything, embracing conspiracy theories and tearing themselves up about everyone and everything being out to get them. Just enjoy the successful times you had, and accept the other teams have caught up now. There's no shame in doing that, so why not do it?

It's the mental scarring. Cats and Hawks had been there and thereabouts both before and after their flags.

Richmond was the most pathetic football club in all of Australian sport for the best part of 40 years, and the butt of every footballing joke during that time period. When you're as passionate as they are, that does really scary things to people.

Gotta love Whateley just being a **** stirrer and bringing back the term 'Richmondy' this year for losing the unloseable games. He knew exactly what he was doing.

And you have to ask yourself apart from his brain fade v Richmond what is it about Tom that players from other clubs supposedly don't like? He isn't arrogant (in fact he comes across as very humble). He does not have a reputation for being dirty or sniping. He has never had any other suspensions. He also comes across as a happy and laid back individual, i.e., likeable. But on the Comedy board he should have been charged by Police. He only expressed remorse over the Prestia incident because he was "found out", and he now should face a penalty from the AFL for snubbing the Auskick kid whose hand he forgot to shake when he received his medal
