My take? Not in any order

Those individuals and families affected by historical actions will be offered financial compensation and ongoing support and opportunities for reconciliation if they choose to engage.

AFL will announce that based on an independent study that while the accusations could not be adequately substantiated to warrant sanctions against individuals, a major reform to cultural safety league wide, across all levels of the game, will be implemented and reviewed annually.

HFC, NMF, BL will announce, based on the results of the investigation, that adequate changes have been made within the organisation to address a safe environment for players of all backgrounds and that senior officials and coaching staff have gone through significant and ongoing professional development to ensure best practice.

Yes, well done to these cunning families. Quite a smart long play, sending emails to Hawthorn staff a decade ago outlining the horrible situations, going to AFLPA counselling to help with the trauma, but never once leaking it for money or leveraging it against the club when said players got delisted. They’ve kept their powder dry for 10 years just waiting for a club initiated racism probe to reach out to them personally and now they’re going to pull the trigger and get paid out.

The perfect plan, it’s all coming together for them.

You cannot post it on the main board because you get banned (fair enough), but some of the North victim blaming, media shaming and pseudo-racist posts has matched the drivel from Essendon posters a few years back.

Can confirm. I’m on a general footy Facebook group which had its origins as a North page.

It’s a hotbed of conspiracy theories, victim blaming and ‘fake news’ type of comments. I tried to do a bit of misinformation correction (deliberately sticking to facts to avoid getting into arguments) but was shouted down as some who ‘believes everything he sees on the ABC’.

I think North fans are more unhinged over it than Hawks fans are - I guess that is understandable, but I would have thought they have an opportunity to dodge the bullet whilst the Hawks might feel their flags are somewhat tarnished.

I think North fans are more unhinged over it than Hawks fans are - I guess that is understandable, but I would have thought they have an opportunity to dodge the bullet whilst the Hawks might feel their flags are somewhat tarnished.

A week or so ago North had cause for optimism. A 4 time premiership coach walked in the door, players (well Griffin Logue) are interested in signing and they are about to go to the draft with pick 1 for the second year in a row.

Fast forward to today and it looks less likely than likely Clarkson will ever coach a game for them - and that won't be decided for months, and Horne-Francis wants to go back to Adelaide after one season.

Seems they’ve listened to concerns about the independence of their inquiry. Hard to argue that they’re not qualified to conduct the investigation

Well to be fair this really does need to be looked into.
