'CASH ENTRANCE' sign in 1966 - as opposed to what?
Pre-purchased ticket?
Before my time but I assume things wouldn't be that different in regards to ticketing arrangements today just different payment options.

Maybe membership ticket entrance.
Diners Club as a charge card started in 1950, and American Express charge cards appeared in 1957. I've no idea if the MCG / MCC was in a position to accept charge cards by 1966, but maybe they did?
Great photo though!
It's not just a feeling.I feel like I'm in the minority but I like Ross Lyon.
I like his approach to footy and his candidness.
The Saints need him and 4 years seems fair considering the task ahead.
I would love to see them win one too.
as opposed to already having a ticket I guess?'CASH ENTRANCE' sign in 1966 - as opposed to what? Happy to be enlightened - but I can't imagine you could pay for a ticket using cheques on game day?

I love how close knit they are. Reckon they all keep each other motivated. Insane to think Scrim is the oldest of that group.View attachment 1543835View attachment 1543836
Good to see we’ve got some quality lads in the youf brigade.
Had surgery to decompress the arteries behind both knees that was causing foot and calf pain. Would explain some of his form drop off. Will be interesting to see if Port can manage it.
Probably a good thing he got out of north. At least port will get the problem fixed.
No Selwood or Hawkins round 1 next year. They lose him for any extended period of time it changes their dynamic alot. They don't have an immediate replacement for him who can have the same impact. Heavy reliance on Cameron it seems will be the case early on. Cant see them rushing him back either not much to gain from it. Things will change a bit for them now they have that premiership in terms of how they prepare as well. The cats need to take their time with Tom Hawkins.
Back then you could buy a season ticket so you didn't have to queue up to buy a ticket. No seat allocated with your ticket, you just sat wherever you wanted.Pre-purchased ticket?

Yep. I remember the membership card was a price of paper in a plastic cover/folder.Back then you could buy a season ticket so you didn't have to queue up to buy a ticket. No seat allocated with your ticket, you just sat wherever you wanted.

If you go to the HFC Museum at Waverley - they have every Membership cards/plastic going back to inceptionYep. I remember the membership card was a price of paper in a plastic cover/folder.
All around the edge it had all the games which the gate attendant would clip/punch a hole in & then you just looked for a seat wherever you wanted.
You used to be able to get into the rooms after games quite easily, which as a young kid was amazing.
My first membership card in 1961, was like a cardboard train ticket which as you mentioned had all the games around the edge. My brother and I would go into the rooms after each game. My brother who was 9 would buy packets of cigarettes from the vending machine and later on sell them for profit at school. He'd been doing it for 3 years before anyone told him he couldn't buy cigarettes because he was too young. I had no idea he'd been doing that until he was told off. I always wondered how his pocket money allowed him to buy so many chips.Yep. I remember the membership card was a price of paper in a plastic cover/folder.

Pretty iconic character was Kenny recognisable as any of the player, hard to picture him not at ground level or in the winning circle.Sad news - Kenny seemed like a lovely old character even if I did enjoy making some of his weekends miserable by beating the Swans. The game is richer for supporters like this and much poorer when they depart.
‘A man who brought so much cheer’: Swans mourn passing of iconic fan
Invited by then-coach Ron Barassi to run water at training for the Swans in the early 1990s, Kenny Williams never really left, weaving himself into the club’s fabric.www.brisbanetimes.com.au
