Agree the top 4 mention any team would salivate, very high picks , given level of ability especially Daicos he was exceptional , our lad Motlop (no too bad fot p27) Burgoyne can't remember where he was taken both had flashes & showed potential through out there first campaign, good selections but a long way to go.

Spoke to an assistant coach from another club last weekend and asked him who he thought were the biggest 3 threats to his team for next season and he rated us as one of them.

He said we have all the pieces of the puzzle (from a list perspective) and as much of a balanced list of any team. The only question mark is our running ability. He said the feeling amongst clubs was that if you were close to us at half time you could run all over us.

Also said that Geelong showed this year that if your contested beasts play less than 70% game time they are more damaging.

He said the running players like Holmes allowed Geelong to do that this year and expects us to take Hollands for all of the above. Also said that if as expected 5 interchange is introduced, they won’t use it for rucks but for keeping key midfielders fresh.

He also said Phillipou was amazing in his interview. He was blown away by his mindset at such a young age. He expects Essendon will take him and if they don’t he won’t slip too much further.

Spot on these youngsters need 2to3 years to adjust and amalgamate to AFL level fitness, speed & dourness, playing against mature men is a big grade up it takes time for an Eighteen /Nineteen year get into stride.

If all falls into place 2023 could be the year, Williams, Saad and Doc fit most of the campaign with some contribution from Marchy, Gov & Martin too could make all the difference. We can dream we've been devastated by significant recurring injuries.

I did ask him for a bit more substance but he didn’t have his slide ruler with him…

We did discuss scenarios but far too difficult to explain on here. The point is, they are training strategies to change lines of attack as well as tempo. For those who care, watch the top sides in the football World Cup. Plenty is being taken out of this, tactics and tempo are next level!
