Much more believable that the bridge was burned (if it was burned) because of Noble's style which pissed everyone off.
Yes Noble it seemed was very skilled in the art of pissing people off.
Some of the coaching staff, Stevo, JHFF, Goldy, Powell and no doubt there is more I'm unaware of.

He did like Mahony, Xerri and Greenwood though.

Noble must be one of the bigger disconnections between how he came across and how he's rumoured to have conducted himself.

My perception of him was always as a straight shooter who drove strong standards but was a good communicator and able to empathise with people throughout the club. He said next to nothing that ever annoyed me or concerned me. He usually sounded on the right track.

Results painted a different picture.

Finally got to the track this morning.

Players hugely respectful to the kids and smart initiative by the Club.

My in a few words standout impressions:

Wardlaw: Proppy and surprisingly smallish.
LDU: All class.
Cunners: Happy.
Powell: That strut.
Bergman: Frightfully skinny.
Phillips: Glowing coat.
George: Man/boy.
Perez: See Phillips
Goater: Athlete
McKay: See LDU
Dawson: See Goater
Edwards: Skyscraper
Archer: Fair dinkum.

Shouldn't be concerned about Logue. Geez he's a big unit. He was doing some burst/sprint work so I'd say his groin is okay. Needs a base now

All round, a happy team at Hotham.

Is Stevo getting skinnier each year? My goodness looking at training photos he looks like a famished Ethiopian ready to run a marathon, but with white skin.

Serious weights need to be lifted, needs to work on building strength big time.

He looks like he’s lost another few kilos. I don’t understand how he doesn’t put on some muscle with all the training, gym and diet at his disposal

If he can notch 20 possies, 4-5 marks on the lead and 600 metres gained a game playing HF/Wing without getting tackled, I couldn’t give a toss about how skinny he is.

The guy has elite evasiveness. If he can get stronger without being able to put on much mass, what difference does it make?

Disagree. Players can put 5-10 meters on their kicks after the age of 17. They can also improve their consistency immensely. You can also improve your non-preferred. Polac used his right foot a few times in his last few games with us....
HAHAHAHA POLEC USED HIS RIGHT FOOT! Probably because his left ankle was ****ing smoked.

You take someone like Daniel Wells. One of the best kicks of a footy I can recall, as a kid and as a senior player. You then take ANYONE, lets use MacMillan, Atley, Swallow.. all 200+ gamers who were as good a kick as when they started. Of course they gain distance on kicks, that’s inevitable with strength and conditioning.

Have a very small percentage of players improved? Yeh sure. But, most do not improve significantly enough to be shit kicks into good kicks. Decision making and lower risk can make someone look like they have improved a lot. Their kicking literally hasnt though. W

We have one to watch this year. Jy been in the system 6 ish years? Lets see if his kicking has improved this year.

A bloke I went to school with got drafted. Good athlete, strong overhead, s**t kick… think Jon Hay.
He held the ball with both hands on top right next to the laces and had a weird ball drop all the way from primary school to getting drafted. He was delisted after 1 year. He came back and trained with us and his kicking style was completely unchanged.
I think that minor flaws can definitely be ironed out but long term habits are hard to change.

Some years before this another bloke from the club got drafted. At training he was given some tips on improving his kicking but apparently he didn’t take kindly to being told how to improve his kicking technique. His attitude didn’t go down well with the club and he didn’t last long there.
The bloke trying to improve his kicking was Bernie Quinlan.
When you have set habits, especially when you have been doing a skill since you were knee high to a grass hopper is really hard to change. Set shots is more mechanical and a routine can be formulated, that can be changed and tweaked.

On the full tilt, kicking at full pace, hitting targets lace out, its not ****ing easy for a start and thats why good kicks, with every other attribute to winning the pill, reading play, system structures and fit are rare as ****ing hens teeth. They don’t grow on trees.

Last point. Its really easy to kick a ball into space for someone to lead onto it. It’s difficult to hit a target and splitting opposition players/zones.

That’s true, his ability to get out on the lead will be immense. He would be able to be thrown around like a doll though

SO WHOLESOME I LOVE THIS CLUB

He didn't do a lot on the field last year, possibly because he was injured, but Hugh just looks like a great bloke. Always positive, smiling, upbeat, welcoming. Hopefully he can have an impact on field this year.

He needs to be able to tackle, and he is zero chance of breaking tackles to run lines when he is skinnier than a twig. He couldn’t tackle a kitten with his current body.

Yep I agree Duck.

The best kicks are the players with the best depth perception too. Split second depth perception and decision making.

Can’t teach it, you’re either born with it or you’re not.

That’s why most of the indigenous players have sublime skills and can pin-point passes, it’s been in their DNA for hundreds of years.
