Was Khawaja just trying to hit that straight through the leg slip? Bizarre shot with a fielder right there.

Absolutely bizarre

Like he had no idea where the fielders were 😏

Most don't care about the test championship.
Does anyone really think NZ are the best side on the world?

Take a series win every day of the week.

Championships are ranked by the least amount of overs. T20 World Cup or GTFO. Test series or GTFO.

Ashes the pinnacle. India Test series win not far behind, but I prefer beating the poms.

Ashes are good

But beating India in India is the pinnacle for me at the moment

They just grind my gears

Nothing better than a full Indian stadium, that is simply dead quiet.

He doesn't seem like the type to know when he's done though. They'll have to push him I think.

I think his plan was always to walk away after India and the Ashes series. Fairly likely that he’s done for this series so I guess the question is, do they let him walk away on his own terms after the Ashes or push him out now. Given his current form I shudder to think about how many times Broad might knock him over in England.

Are there any other options to replace Warner apart from Bancroft at the moment? Would be a very interesting call, given the history.

I think beating India in India is the pinnacle because they’re very good, but moreso because Indian conditions are just so different to Australian conditions. You don’t just need a good side going into India, you need a good strategy with spinners who can turn the ball and extract natural variation, and batters who can stand up to Indian wickets. Warner is one of the best openers of his generation but in India he averages 21 in tests. Cummins is the top-ranked test bowler in the world but he averages 33 bowling in India, which is 50% worse than everywhere else. It’s not enough to have great players, which makes it such a unique challenge.
