SYL you are probably right but I for one would have Scrimmers in every day of the week ahead of Bramble, but I also have no idea what Sam is thinking when comparing those two.
I would too, to be honest, but I think Sam really values the run and gun footy Bramble can bring from the back half.

Interestingly Sic dropped on SEN this morning that Frost will be playing a different role this year, taking on more of the smalls.
Yep Blanck gets to grow into his role and we may have DGB come into the side depending on match ups

Moore
McGrath
Moore v Crabby is an interesting one.

from memory, they try to rebound through him (McGrath), don't they?

That could see Moore get off the chain, if McGrath is hanging back in D50m as the rebound outlet.

Lock him in for 25+1 & give him the 3 votes now.

I hope to see Frost go forward a bit, this season: give us some defensive speed & presence inside F50m.

Pressure Forward or with a defensive role on an opposition play-maker.

That’s a good looking side, but I don’t know how you could put Scrimshaw in the side ahead of Bramble when it’s clear from the two hit outs that Sam has Bramble in the 22, while Scrimshaw has played for the “possibles” and at Box Hill on the weekend.

Reeves always starts in the middle too, he’s our best centre square ruck.
More flexibility.

We can play Scrimshaw as a third tall forward and roll Day to HBF if needs be.

They simply send someone else to Moore.

McGrath will probably play on a Wingard or young on-baller who is rotating through our HFF (eg. Ward, McKenzie or McDonald).

Yeah if Hind is out they'd look to use McGrath, Redman and Ridley to rebound.

I know it's kind of a thing to shit on McGrath in here, but he's actually a good player*. He's a solid defender and is their best matchup for Moore IMO. Hopefully Essendon try and work through McGrath as much as possible as it will give Moore plenty of room.

*Obviously the main issue is he was the number one pick, when an absolute gun midfielder in McLuggage was taken two picks later.

Frost Blanck Hardwick
Jiath Sicily Impey
Amon Day McDonald
Moore Kozi Wingard
Breust Reeves Greene

Meek Newcombe Ward

McKenzie Nash Worpel Maginness Scrimshaw

E: Bramble Lynch DGB
Exact 22 I have following the Pies game.

The only potential difference would be the sub. Scrimshaw/Bramble/Morrison subject to fitness.

I wonder how Nash would go as a tagger, he may not get them every time, but when he did, they wouldn't want to go near the ball afterwards.

Merrett and it’s not a debate. Cut the head off the snake by taking out their captain.
Parish doesn’t hurt you that much anyways and after those 2 they don’t have anyone worth tagging
Think Martin can hurt you as well unless he got Essendon'd over summer but Merrett would be the one

Agree. Reeves will take the opening bounce. Can't believe how many have left him out here.

I do think he is our #1 ruck and arguably has the most upside, but still has a bit of work to do to keep that spot all season.
Pretty poor in the pre season against Ceglar, followed that up with a average display vs Cox / Cameron.
If Reeves is not winning hitouts he must be first in the follow up work and have a presence around the ground with our younger midfield.
I thought Meeks presence was notable in the pies game, he provided a contest helped out Nuke & Worpel protect the young jets around the footy to our advantage.

Meeks our #1 for the moment, reeves just needs more core strength but I imagine they takes an unbelievable amount of time to build for a lamp post his size.

If reeves emerges as our #1 and Ramsden launches it will make selection bloody hard. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Meek and lynch as the main guys for most of our games.

I think he's much better suited to this. He's incredibly quick for his size.

Still one of the funniest bits of footage of Frost as it shows his best and worst in the same video.

Runs down one of the quicker blokes in the league with a huge tackle and then kicks the resulting free out on the full lol
