The 4th Test starts on the 9th and is due to finish on the 13th of March. WA's final Shield game starts the 14th. Would be good if Lance Morris could be flown back in time to take part in it.
He’d be pretty rusty you’d think

Western Australia squad: Ashton Turner (c), Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Cam Gannon, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Matt Kelly, Mitch Marsh, Josh Philippe, D'Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye

South Australis squad: Wes Agar, Jake Carder, Daniel Drew, Henry Hunt, Spencer Johnson, Jake Lehmann (c), Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Nathan McSweeney, Harry Nielsen, Liam Scott, Kelvin Smith, Henry Thornton

I know anything can happen in a single match, but on paper the talent disparity between these sides is laughable.

Gannon to miss, along with...??

Some chance that Gannon would play ahead of Kelly. I would think that it’s either Gannon or Kelly missing, so the attack is

Dorff
Tye
Agar
Kelly/Gannon

Then 10 overs from some combo of Stoinis, Short and Turner. I think most likely the other spot is Bancroft or Hardie, and Bancroft has been in better form.

I guess the only other possibility is that Kelly and Gannon are left out and then they do 20 overs of Stoinis, Short, Hardie and Turner.

Agar missing out on marsh cup final would round out a very bad couple months for himself. Tho he could likely do well in India if we go dual spin combo

They still managed to finish second though. Agar, Johnson, Manenti, McAndrew, Thornton is still a very good bowling attack (domestically speaking obviously).

Gannon and Banners to miss for me.

Are you including hardie and or Agar in the side? Agar kinda fair but on form a lone Hardie has been underwhelming. Bangers averages 60 and has been WA’s tgird highest run getter. Marsh/Inglis/Stoinis/Turner are quite versatile but more importantly can finish an innings too

Happy for Josh but how the hell does Hughes miss out on man of the series. Yeah his team was last but Hughes was that much better

Pretty weak. Imagine someone like Charlie Stobo misses out who's been in tremendous touch.
Surely they'd drop Gannon first.

It's a horses for courses type selection. Tye is a very good white ball player who is available, no question he gets picked given his performances this year.

Stobo has played one 50-over game all season, he performed reasonably well in that game but is quite a way down the pecking order when it comes to 50-over cricket. His red ball form has been excellent though and is doing his absolute best to keep his spot in the Shield side.

Gannon won't play I wouldn't have thought, would only play if someone is unavailable.

Has Stobo been playing the marsh cup matches?

No, he's played one game. Took 1/34 from eight overs.

Anyone know of any radio stations kind enough to cover the match today?

Im all for Hardie but that is a shocking call. Shorts been the second leading run getter for WA. Inglis is versatile to play anywhere in that line up so would not sure why they dropped short to fit in Inglis at the top

So I guess Bancroft and Hardie will definitely have a chance at winning all three formats this summer. Probably Kelly too. Not sure about Inglis because he’s been named in the ODI squad, but hopefully if he’s not going to play then he will be released before the last ODI match, which is the day before the Shield final starts. Outside chance for Turner although he hasn’t played a Shield match in quite a while.
