Hird should be band completely from football in my view , to use some type of enhancement by taking some form of drug should of been stopped by the club Doctor.

In fairness we all would be just as listless if our club was run by high ranking coterie groups and whose internal political games are not ideal for running a club.

People can hate on Eddie all they want but my god he made sure out of all the old big teams, Collingwood was the only team ready for the realities of the full time professional game.

It has a great history but it's been destroyed by management and not keeping a close check on what is happening to the actual players.
Believe it or not they still have people at the club who were there when all the crap was going on.

What makes Essendon simply roll aside on the weekend barring the 150 year anniversary?

I understand the optimism and enthusiasm about the youth you have, every team has them and a fair few are performing to above average standards.

Really enjoying what Marshall does in the ruck and feel he is the big one (no pun intended) to carry you guys to victory.

A midfield missing it's leader is a huge loss but let's not pretend the quality diminished quickly. You guys still have Brad Crouch, Seb Ross is a reasonable AFL player. The runners on the outside may become a key aspect of the game when directing it further.

Our runners are criminally under rated, and the back 6 as a unit is fast becoming one of the better ones in the AFL. Redman as good as the more unheralded guys like Dan Rioli and Hayden Young, Zerk Thatcher penned as one of the most improved players in the comp by Kane Cornes (iirc), Andy McGrath is a natural backmen who is building into this role beautifully surrounded by the class of Jordan Ridley.

The most fascinating watch on Saturday night will be how we handle the smalls St.Kilda have. A whole bunch of them as dangerous as the next in a system Ross is building nicely.

I know it is going to be a major slog, just need to hope we can retain the ascendency and be in the game in the first 10 minutes of each quarter as this is something we have struggled with under Scott's tenure (in season and pre season games already).

Apologies, probably the wrong thread for this, but I am now absolutely convinced that we have an outstanding coaching group with RTB, Harvey, Hayes, Enright, Goddard, Carrol & Batchelor (apologies if I have missed anyone!).

What a resource for the players if u want to be the best u can be!

U can lead a horse to water but can’t make it drink, but to date the boys are clearly listening, learning & doing the work!

We have only scratched the surface with this up and coming group & will have set backs, but there is a pathway there if the guys want to follow it, improve and get respect from the competition.

Very good news. Mcc have upped their attendance to 69k for this week. The normal home clubs are easy to work out early. We aren’t used to booking early or even booking at all. That’s more like the crowd we should expect. Go saints. Wish I was there.
