We could have chased Mitchell ourselves if we wanted to get another extractor. We could chase Matt Crouch too if we want that. Richmond never won clearance but always won matches. It sounds like Lyon wants run and spread and probably happy to lose that clearance beast for the added run.

It will be interesting if we bring Jones back in at some point, he could change things up and Billings as a running high half forward adds to that. I can imagine both suit what Lyon likes but lack of fitness might hold both back from getting. run.

To me Collingwood's ability to over-lap run and rebound quickly is way makes them special. It's impossible to stop them finding options up ahead of them. They take risks. It's almost like you have to go man on man on them like it's a final.
we need a runner, receive and run, neat disposal, doesn't have to be perfect. just someone who's willing to stand up and lead, the others will follow

Is there a more likeable coach in the league than Craig McRae?

I tell you what.
The fact that wasn't a free kick was a disgrace
Front on contact should be the easiest rule in the world to adjudicate on as well.

If the standard of umpiring since the addition of the 4th on field ump hasnt gone woefully downhill ill eat my hat.

Barrett’s latest piece on the AFL site:
”Woeful West Coast entering Fitzroy territory”.

An astoundingly brilliant piece of excellence in journalism.

It echoes my own thoughts that: now is the time for us to talk about WCE and the defunct Fitzroy in the same sentence.

Should WCE even continue to be part of this competition?

Some hard decisions required at HO.

It's honestly amazing he gets paid for what he does (in the contractual sense)

I assume this is satire from you (but likely serious from Barrett) BUT...

I was just speaking to a mate about how Simpson seems to be avoiding much scrutiny. 9th, 17th and currently last.

Surely hes in strife.

Satire from me.
Clickbaiting by Purple, though he does have a point.

WCE are uncompetitive in both AFL and WAFL.
They’re regularly being beaten by >100 in the WAFL (111 this week) and now in the AFL.
Injuries are part of it, yes.
But they can’t get any of their older players on the park because they’re all cooked.
When was the last time Nic Nac played any serious football?

WCE are proof that hubris and arrogance exists within the AFL and it is soooooo satisfying to see them being this pathetic.

Could not happen to a better team (except Hawthorn).

Simpson is definitely under the pump, and will be the scapegoat.

Is he? Like i assume maybe he is over there but in Vic media ive heard Longmuir mentioned as being under the pump this year, purple has done after Stewy Dew as well.

Ive heard no rumblings on Simpson (yet)

I’m a bit concerned about West Coast performance over the last two years.
Another bottom three result for them this year, and getting thumped on their home deck.
I watched them at Optus last year against us, and they were seriously bad when we were marginally bad.
I see no improvement this year.
Perhaps it is time for the AFL to step in, take control as they did with Melbourne.
Maybe consider relocation to a different state: the third team in Queensland?
That would be a great result, one that other clubs would see as being good for football.
ROFL

mate theyve got 50m cash sitting in the bank from memory. let em burn that down to 0 before we start trying to help them.

they need a decade down the bottom

Longmuir in strife... Young no longer his manager, i learnt the other day, which means he's vulnerable. Also peter bell is stepping on his toes in a big way on game day.

Not sure I can remember a time when the WA teams were so bad at the same time, normally when one is bad the other one is at least going alright.

West Coast would be favourites for the spoon right now and Freo have dropped off a cliff this year and don't look to be any chance of playing finals now.

Can't say I'm not enjoying it though and listening to talkback radio here with West Coast and Freo supporters getting stuck into Simpson and Longmuir.

And both SA teams are flying at the same time.
