The changes I noticed at the game were:

• it’s hard to exit our forward line now. That is due to Martin (who just shuts down space beautifully. Don’t care about any of his stats, he is a weapon), due to Cuners, Fog, and due to Harry McKay who is the best pressuring big man since NickNat. Incredible athlete. He is something to behold. The limp efforts of Motlop, Fisher and Durdin are no longer hurting. Pray pray pray that Cuners and Martin stay fit.
• they are trying to be unpredictable. And it’s working. We now have plenty of guys who can kick well and it’s showing. Get the ball in the hands of Cerra, mcg, Saad, Cuners, boyd, Martin, Charlie (his field kicking is ridiculous) and good things happen. The switch. Go short. Go long. Cut inside. Go wide. The plan is ‘be unpredictable’. Absolutely love it.

Harry's field kicking is elite.

Reckon with his speed, burst, marking ability and kick, he'd be a weapon on the wing in spurts. Guess he kinda does that anyway presently.

Yeah I know just utter nonsense. They had 80 tackles. They turned up, they just got mauled by a bigger, faster, better team.

Saints fans also stating they “didn’t turn up” yesterday despite their pressure rating being at elite levels most of the game.

The “we didn’t turn up” talk is a huge cop out. All supporters need to accept that sometimes the opposition are just better.

First 10 goal loss to us since 95. That's a bitter pill to swallow.

Martin and cunners are the difference for me.. have those extra marking options , more class and more options to kick goals and Martin goes hard at the contest, thought he was going to knock himself out yesterday.
Special mention to SOS and young who put in a huge effort yesterday especially SOS , was everywhere and

Not going to get too excited . Should be a cracking game this week, we play well over there and against freo in general

Watched the game again and love what i am seeing. Harry's field kicking is sublime and our forward line has now a few options. Best indicator of our improvement is that this thread is only at 14 pages as compared to when we loose, its usually at 30 pages plus before the end of the weekend.

Got our 1wood back inside te contest which is great, but I'm really impressed with our run and spread post contest. Its giving our forwards a much better look. Also was so impressed by our ability to close down space and pressure Hawthorn. Thats not been traditionally a strength of ours.
