I hope their luck runs out next week.

It will in finals unless the AFL want another 2016 on their hands where everyone talks about the quality of the umpiring for the half decade or so afterwards.

Teams like Collingwood always get found out in finals because the calls they're accustomed to getting and rely upon no longer get called.

Look at their loss to Sydney last year as an example.

Atm you’d think Pies would face Melbourne in a qualifying final… so no home ground advantage and Melb in full flight will definitely be a challenge.

Then most likely a semi against the Cats who match up well against them too.

Bingo. They'd be hoping like hell they get Brisbane who are horrendous at the G and they'd knock them off comfortably.

If they get Melbourne and they're healthy how Gawn performs will likely decide that game.

Guys as much as I’d love us to beat this mob we ain’t.They are that good it’s not funny.Nothing special about them it’s just that they get the job done every time and have so much belief.

They get us comfortably by 6 or so goals.

It's gotta happen
Happen sometime...
It’s happened twice this year, and they’ve scraped through numerous times the last 18 months. They’re not as mighty as some of the top teams of years gone by. Their 2010 team was better by a margin.

They’ve been pretty lucky in terms of injuries piling up.. even tonight a hard wet slog not even a niggle or corky to be seen.

Filth will be straight sets unless Brisbane get them week one

Straight sets unlikely but given Brisbane’s poor MCG record, finishing on top instead of second may not be an advantage if the pies play Melbourne instead of Brisbane in week 1.
Melb need to be at full strength and get back Oliver & Fritsch (handy goal kicker) soon.

The only reason we don't have a chance of winning is the possibility of having 4 of our 5 best midfielders out. If we had 3 of them and a returning Martin, I'd actually be pretty confident.

I'd say we will have Cripps, Cerra, Hewett add to that Doc. Martin also likely to return

Kennedy and now Walsh are big outs

Interesting to see that two Collingwood goals (Elliot and Daicos) were from the boundary line and the player ran around the mark to open the angle and got called play on while still outside the boundary line.

Should that not be a throw in? Does a gone know what the actual rule is?

I’d kill to have a “handy” goal kicker like Fritsch!
