Nah. He was a (free agent) trade.

The thing we do have is cash to splash on free agents now that the Lynch and Dusty mega deals are coming to the end plus all the likely retirements over the next 2 years - Grimes, Riewoldt, Cotchin, Prestia, Tarrant, Castagna etc etc.

All this talk of candidates dropping because it’s a poisoned chalice where they’ll do the hard yards and then be sent packing is rubbish.

There are only 18 head coaches in the AFL. Maybe two or three positions a year come up. You wait too long and suddenly you’re yesterday’s man. Forever an assistant coach.

Give the next guy three years. That’s plenty of time to show something. If it’s borderline you can offer an extra year.
