AFL members get a choice of which area you prefer i.e
level 1 open
Level 1 undercover
level 2A
level 4 front/middle/back

or you can select best available.. if you dont like the tickets, or there isnt sufficient seats left, you can go back and select another area

As to selecting seats/rows etc, no you at the whim of Ticketek.

However, during the year for lesser games at the MCG i have been able to select the exact seats I want.

Richmond have Gold, Silver and Bronze level members based on years of membership.

My in-laws are Gold level, but are not in the guaranteed access categories. It determines who has greater access to tickets and ballots for certain games. They might get in a ballot for the GF, whereas Silver and Bronze wouldn't.

Carlton just seem to have the Carltonians, Legends Lounge and some Captains Club members who are in the "guaranteed access" 17,000. What happens if only 14,000 take up the offer I don't know. That's when we should have a system like Richmond that advantages longer serving members. It's one of those things that hasn't been relevant for us for 20 years.

My Dad is a Hawks member and our system seems to be exactly the same as theirs for GF access, but for the name of the memberships. That's why I upgraded to Captains Club as Hawks had same wait list issue for GF access memberships when they were winning everything. I saw it as getting in early in our wooden spoon years to avoid the rush, but took way longer than expected

I think the idea is it ensures people buy up the guaranteed GF option and make the club more $ in the lean times and then those people are rewarded in strong eras for paying more for their memberships (that's if they keep renewing) for Carltonians, Legends Lounge, Captains Club etc in those lean eras. There's only a wait list now as they've filled up due to the higher demand with greater on field success. Would be unheard of for anyone in those categories for GF access to not take it up. Worth gold.

We were a pretty poor club early 2000s, could explain the path we took with these GF access style memberships? Raising much needed funds.

Also not sure if Carltonians M/ship is capped.

Was told from someone at the Club that we have around 15K Captains Club Members.

I have 3 standing room tickets (2 adults + 1 child) in section M19 for sale at the purchased price of $63.30. Snagged these but standing room is not great for my son as he won't be able to see much. I can only sell the tickets together. Any interest DM me thanks.

I have been a Captains Club member for 20 years and I am rapt and extremely grateful that I got two great level 1 seats today after logging in at 9.50 am.
I have two memberships so that was max. I could get I believe. Didn't try for any more as was worried I would lose my spot in line and also the great two seats next to each other I got.

I don't think I got any priority however, not sure how this will work if we were for arguments sake to play in GF?

I have been told by club that I am guaranteed GF tickets but this Tiketek system does not seem to take this into consideration?

Anybody shine some light on this.

Grand final ticketing works very differently to early finals.
There is a specific allocation to competing clubs for the GF which creates priority for guarantee GF ticket members to access tickets ahead of other members.
Most of our 95,000 members will be seeking tickets with the great unwashed if we are fortunate enough to make the granny.

Yeah I did the same at the start of last season. Got in just in time.

The reason I did it, was seeing so many diehard Tiger supporters miss out in 2017. I think the gold level membership benefitted my BIL and nephew in 2019, when the Giants wouldn't have taken up all their allocation (or were allocated less due to the small membership base).

My mate spoke to the club today and there are tiers, but not the way you mentioned. Reserved seat, Legend's Lounge and Captain's Club can purchase Category 1 to 6 tickets. 3 game members can only purchase Category 6 tix. I'm not sure about other categories but I'm guessing they're similar.

For the benefit of others this wasn’t true. You were able to get Cat 1 as well. I’d say it’s too hard for ticketek to implement.

Got Tix via my AFL membership…waited about 6 mins…couldn’t get level 2 or 2A but got level 1 about 20 rows back…very happy bagger

I was a reserved seat member. A few years ago they upgraded us to Captains Club for a season. I had the option to pay extra on top of my reserved seat membership to continue it and did so. I am glad I did.

you are only guaranteed GF tickets, not other finals.
When it comes to GF, members have to register and tickets are allocated.

I was a reserved seat member. A few years ago they upgraded us to Captains Club for a season. I had the option to pay extra on top of my reserved seat membership to continue it and did so. I am glad I did.

I have had Captains Club reserved since we moved from Princes Park in 2005.

Social Club Member prior to 2005.

Dumb question…if we win our first final….do we play again on Friday night or will it be Saturday night ?

I’m assuming it would be Friday as the other games on the other side is the draw play on Saturday so would need the extra days rest

Yes. Imagine Channel 7 will definitely want Collingwood v Carlton on the Friday night.
