*UPDATE FOR GRAND FINAL BALLOT SHOULD CARLTON QUALIFY:-

BALLOT EMAIL WENT OUT TODAY 18TH SEPTEMBER.

Yes. Imagine Channel 7 will definitely want Collingwood v Carlton on the Friday night.

That’s if Collingwood loses.

Even still would think it would be a Friday night if we win next week and have to play the Dees.

Dumb question…if we win our first final….do we play again on Friday night or will it be Saturday night ?

I’m assuming it would be Friday as the other games on the other side is the draw play on Saturday so would need the extra days rest

It will be Friday night. That is why the Thursday and Friday night games were scheduled. The teams that play on Saturday will play the following Saturday.

I've never seen this site like this. Not many injuries to whinge about. Talking finals and not draft picks at this time of the year. The smell of grass growing and being mown. The unbridled joy of people getting finals tickets.

Could get used to this.
It's brilliant. I am interstate, but I love this thread - it makes everything feel much more real, and exciting! Thanks to everyone who posts here. I hope you all get your tickets eventually...

Mid-year I booked a family holiday for Sep school holidays.

Didn't even think about finals.

Would happily forgo September holidays for many years if it means premierships.

Think my family will mind holidaying without me this year?

I'm hearing some terrible stories about finals tickets. Alot of people missing out,i heard last night 2 Legend Lounge members logged in had two Level 2 tickets in their cart to pay and of course they were timed out, they went back in again expecting to get offered similar tickets but were only offered Level 4 tickets. Then i know another couple who are General admission members logged in approx the same time as the above couple and got Level two tickets.
How frustrating and disappointing and what a terrible system Ticketek currently has.
So sad for people that missed out on tickets.

Issue is with Ticketteks session timer. If you went via the link which puts you in the waiting room without going to their site initially then the timer will start when you can start selecting tickets. However what I found yesterday is if you were waiting and in another window went to the main site the session timer starts. So if say 8 minutes into that timer the main window waiting in the queue lets you through that session timer count isn't reset and you have a minute to get business done.

I went to the Ticketek website in my computer, logged in and while being in the waiting room the timer started and kept resetting as it got down to zero, over and over. I could for see what could possibly happen, run out of time once i got in to purchase a ticket(which now we're hearing so many similar stories about this happening to people). I jumped on my phone and went through the Ticketek App on my phone that had me logged in and i went straight thru to purchase tickets with the 6 or 8 minutes full time left to get thru and got Category one tickets that we wanted.
This stuff happens every year or With large events an nothings even done to rectify it.
I feel so sorry for members or the older folk that aren't tech savvy and miss out because of it.

the ticket system will always suck, when demand outweighs supply (now known as the Taylor Swift effect).

The way I approach is at it has generally worked in the past.
  1. having two different browsers (i.e firefox / crome) with one tab open on two PCs, but PC cant be on same connection. I have one porting off of phone, and other off of wifi. try and avoid using work wifi if working from big office, there may be others at work trying at same time and ticketek may recognise it as same IP, which i understand, like having too many tabs open, may work against you.
    • stagger when you log on, so the countdown timers re-set at different times. The countdown timer is 10 minutes, so don't log on 10 minutes before they go on sale.
  2. Set up your ticketek account with credit card etc already saved on there.
  3. Also have password at hand, and bar codes ready on a word/excel doc so you can quickly copy and paste.
  4. If on early try and chose your preferred seating, if on a bit later roll the dice and take "best available"
  5. dont get too many tickets if you want more than 5 seats you are always going to struggle getting what you want.
  6. This one I have no evidence of but has worked at times, get on a day or so earlier and save the URL of the game select screen (https://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=AFLF23) and try and use that rather than go thru main screen
Good luck to all when we make week 2 :)

Good advice

I read on twitter another tip to use incognito mode to jump the queue, not sure of the validity but some saying it worked for them

Can you organise my travel itinerary for Europe next year ?

That Ticketek link is the same link the Club emailed me an texted me which Members would have received as well.

I had everything organised on notepad from Monday, barcodes, seating map and my Ticketek username/password so all I needed to do yesterday was copy & paste barcodes etc.

So much easier.

A good start Aph, but are you utilising a dual monitor setup for full ticket-buying optimisation?

I also personally prefer using notepad to store barcodes as it's a much simpler program compared to MS word - doesn't take forever to open and fonts are negligible.

I meant notepad not word doc.

Yep, thats why its a good idea to queue up with about 5 mins left. Even if you got through you would still have 5 mins to conduct business/

Now I’m worried. I didn’t use any technique other than my iPad, a link from an email Carlton sent me, a few scribbled bar codes on a piece of paper and my credit card in front of me. I kept my fingers crossed when I was asked for a password and I got it right. Honestly all of this other stuff goes over my head but I’m impressed at the ingenuity of people’s efforts to get finals tickets.

Just one question. Where’s the countdown clock? I didn’t see one.
