Pleased to see Nick Larkey get a blazer, even if on the bench. To kick that many goals in a really poor side is some kind of achievement.

Good article and read with one on one with Bucks & Michael Warner in HS this morning, honest and raw. Will need to get past paywall though - Overwhelming sense is Adam Treloar dumping his biggest regret and still hasn't spoken to him

Fly has a ego and is a F***ing bulldog in a poodles body and a winner

Wright, Kelly, Browne and Fly the perfect team to remove egos and make the right decisions for the club, Bucks really seems to love Wrighty despite him getting the flick, totally agreed with the decision

The club was terrible place and it was player driven to remove him - 2021

Wasn’t sure how the Salary Cap debacle happen but thinks performance improved a lot and triggers we met with players to pay more, was meant to lose a bigger salary player in 2019, although he mentions that he never wanted to know player salaries and club assured him that the problem was fixed then it wasn’t (Something like that)

It was the right time for Eddie to leave

Naicos just knows and understands what needs to be done no matter where on the ground - its a rare commodity in a player

Throughout his time at Collingwood, more when he was a coach, there just increasingly became a disconnect between the football department, including players and staff, and their faith in leadership.

Found himself barracking hard for the Pies v Freo this year (asked if he was a Pies Man) sat with Kelly and Browne who is a mad supporter on the day.

Kelly is a tough nut, one of the toughest he has seen but soft inside, the right man in the job.

Love the description of Fly as a f***ing bulldog in a poodles body.

I’ve posted elsewhere that Fly was formed in the cauldron of finals. While we know that Brisbane were given certain ‘advantages’ in their dominant years, they were ruthless and a tough side to beat. Fly knows all about that.

What I appreciated about this year's AA is that it at least somewhat resembled a football side that could run out and play a game, as opposed to the usual set menu of 16 inside mids in a sandwich between a few key positioners at each end.
They went a bit heavy on the intercept defenders, but do agree otherwise. They probably should have had Nick in the back 6 and an extra mid.

No offence to Bontempelli, but how does a captain whose team isn't even in the finals, win the Best captain award?

It's a popularity vote and recency bias at it's best.

People forget quickly that Moore was far and away the number 1 defender and best skipper in the comp until Round 16 or so.

Funny thing is, neither bloke will be playing in the game v Sydney.

Keep it up Blues. They can call it passion or healthy competition, but I prefer damaging internal conflict, especially on the eve of finals.
