I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

Gotta love the preemptive melts for something that not only hasn’t happened yet but there’s been no credible information to say that it will

Nevermind that the club is also notorious for not revealing information on things that actually have happened let alone something that hasn’t

I used to just think you were a glass half empty kind of guy Ep, but with some of the sh*t you’ve been posting lately I’m now certain you have crafted one of the most elaborate trolling performances ever seen on the eagles board.

ZERO CHANCE anyone in the club would accept the trade you just proposed.

Congrats Ep2018, your dedication to stay in character all these years is remarkable. I salute you.

Don’t think anyone is saying it will happen, just theorising it could. No matter if it’s a small possibility, it is still a possibility. We do love a good trade down.
Would be a very minuscule chance it happens for 2 & Ports 1st but not a zero chance.

Everyone at WCE will know the pressure is on to not eff up this use of pick 1.

Two beyond horror years at all three levels we play at, seemingly incompetent fitness and medical departments, years of questionable decisions at list/draft management, etc.

There will (rightfully) be quite a few people knowing that they can just take the good thing as pick 1 or they can take a risk by trading it away because they are scared to pick a Victorian.

In the end, in a year or two if he wants to go home no-one can blame people making the decision to draft him & back ourselves.

But if they chicken out and take unders (as have previously done as recently as the last draft) because we want to go safe with a WA player and either of the two picks go wrong (for whatever reason) or Reid is an instant hit then they might as well look for work in another industry.

Anyway... we will see in a few months.

In a situation where we could just grab Curtin with 1, getting a late first rounder and Curtin can only be seen as a good deal.

Also I suspect we'll be sending Port's second and/or Port's third rounder back in the deal too if they have to match a Sanders bid.

So Curtin plus live pick 21 gets Reid?

AND we add another pick or even two more picks so poor North have a pick for Sanders?

So pick 1, 35 and 53 for 2 and 17. Really?

I will cut off a body part if that happens.

Splitting seems ridiculous at this point. A complete no brainer for us. I would question the whole recruitment department if they even consider it.
Would be absolutely filthy on the club and would be like we are going 5 steps back if we did it. All this talk of splitting to help out our rebuild are completely kidding themselves. Is the dumbest line of thinking. There's nothing in the top 10 for us and Curtin isn't it. We have a star in Reid at pick 1.

Wowee, a peanut North supporter has posted about a pick 1 “done deal” made weeks ago and a dozen blokes have laid an egg! Fellas. He’s absolutely 100% full of s**t.

VERY recently, I spoke face to face with an Eagles player who I have had a bit to do with professionally, I’m obviously not going to name him but he’d be in the first half a dozen blokes picked each week. I asked him flat out if we’re taking Reid with pick 1 and without hesitation he looked me straight in the eye and said “as it stands yes we are”. I also spoke directly to a well known footy journo TODAY who personally I regard as the most reliable in the industry (particularly when it comes to the Eagles) and he said there is 100% absolutely no mail coming out of WCE, Demons or North of any even proposed (let alone “done”) deal regarding pick trading between any or all of those clubs.

I’m not saying the word of above player and reporter should be taken as gospel and that they know exactly what’s going on in recruiting, or that it means that there’s no situation in which ROB and crew end up trading pick 1, but if I was a betting man (which I am) and I had to put money on either:
A player that I don’t see would have any reason to bulls**t to me regarding pick 1 and a highly regarded footy journo having no knowledge of any such deal

OR

some BF hack trying to make a name for himself because he’s lonely, I know who my money is on.
Even disregarding the above, to suggest that a pick deal between two clubs has been agreed to weeks ago, almost two months out from draft night, when the final order, let alone the final offers have not even been decided is the absolute height of stupidity and there is no scale that level of ignorance can be measured on. I’m an atheist but may God have mercy on his soul.

Wait the rumour was it was done weeks ago? Good grief, 1 million percent fake.

You know what I really hate? When they say, "One player doesn't make the club, so split the pick".

We already have Oscar, Hewett, Ginbey, Bazzo, Hough, Chesser, Long, BBW, Culley, Maric. We'll pull another 5 or 6 this year. Then next year, another 5 or 6 including a probably top 3 pick. Then there's the PSD and RD on top. And then at some point will will trade in some ready-mades.

Flag teams have a nucleus of guns. Most will be from the top 10 of the draft. We'll have 5 or 6 top 10 draft players, which along with the other picks is enough to find that top end nucleus.

And guys like Harley, if he fulfils potential, makes a massive difference. Having a Dusty, Trac, Danger type player makes a huge difference. Even better if you can find two.

I just can't see them trading Harley.

Went into the club store, used my bday voucher to grab a playing top with #9. The girl behind the counter asked if i wanted a name printed as well for free. Sure why not. She asked if wanted Naitanui or Reid.
Pick 1 confirmed team.
Hahaha
Actually, not a bad idea.
Lets all head down to MinRes and get number 9's with Reid printed, the tribe has spoken!

Even though we can all see that it's complete crap that Eagles and North have agreed a trade just confirming it is indeed complete crap, not discussed, not imminent, both teams content with what they have.

Only way we give up pick 1 is for picks 2 & 3. So WCE will stick with picking Reid.
Ok for hypothetical sake and because I'm bored in this scenario who do we pick.

And also I need to mention Curtin if your not aware is currently sliding due to poor form. Was around pick 5-6 before but now after his last two games his probally more a pick 8-12.
In no way should we be picking with any pick thats 2&3 or we are going to be selling ourselves short.

So with knowing that, who do we pick with 2&3

It's still a risky concept because McKercher would be the first choice but he would have to interview well to say he wants and has no issues coming to us. So far we have heard nothing about McKercher and him being a flight risk.
Who's the next pick and can we comfortably say he is fine with coming to us.
