Not sure on them being as evil as people make out. This isn't a US thing. Russians have been shafting Ukranians for hundreds of years. Holomodor was another example of that in the USSR days.

This war is just another chapter in a continuation of a long running battle between the 2 nations. Russia wants to destroy Ukraine's sovereignty because Putin incorrectly believes the country is owed to Russia. Ukranians have said a big FU to being a Russian puppet state. We're at a point where Ukraine absolutely has zero percent chance of ever faling under the sphere of Russian influence again. Putin can't wear that so the next best thing for him is to use Russia's military advantage and invade the place.


The US's involvement goes as far as at least partially fulfilling its obligations to defend Ukraine under the Budapest agreement.


For which I may add that the US encouraged Ukraine to sign in order for Russia to get its hands on Ukraine's nuclear weapons stockpile & TU160 Blackjack bombers in exchange for Russia guaranteeing Ukraine's sovereignty and guaranteeing to defend Ukraine against being attacked due to Ukraine no longer having nukes to defend itself.


The core aspect of this conflict is absolutely down to Russia and Putin. There is absolutely zero argument to that.

Putin is an absolute campaigner but the US has poked the bear and now they have a war that hurts the citizens there. Putin doesn't give a shit. Russia is getting richer from the price of oil and gas rising.

The Russian economy is a shambles and the rouble has crashed. Gas flows are at their lowest levels since the 70s. Urals oil trades consistently far lower than all other oil markets because of the price cap. Interest rates are at 13%.

Russia in no way is better off from the war. Putin has wrecked the economy. Finland & Sweden have joined NATO. Armenia us saying FU to Russia and Kazakhstan is now imposing sanctions. Both nations are likely to leave CSTO.

The US haven't poked anything. All they've done is help Ukraine defend itself from a fascist madman as it's obliged to do under the Budapest agreement.

That's f'ed man. I was made redundant in Sept, after 19 years at my place of employ and setting up their new finance system across all states and 4 international divisions.

I was cool with that, was looking to transition to retirement and got a very very acceptable payout. A lot different to your situation.

On the plus side, he thinks said emergency dept is in Geelong and should use a splash more colour, so good to know he described Geelong to a T as needing more pizzaz than a derelict water park and prison on the outskirts. On the negative side, well, it is still an emergency dept and they're looking to admit him and we're kinda confident is dementia, so, FML.

Can we just redo this week? Anyone got an old phone booth?

A few weeks ago i went into Dandenong ER with what turned out to be a kidney stone.
i had delayed going in because i knew i'd be sitting in an uncomfortable seat for hours, and i'd been dealing with it at home by moving around a lot from bed, to armchair , to floor, to hot shower.

Anyway i dropped a heap of ibuprofen , which calmed the pain a bit , but i found out later its bad for kidneys , went in. Because i tend to grit my teeth and not carry on, i was pretty much back of the queue.
Was 6 hours to get into the ER.
Doctor realizes that i do actually have a real problem and not a tummy ache. Moves me to their short stay area.
Had a Catscan at 2am.
At 4am they knew the problem.
Then they needed to transfer me to Casey Hospital which had a urology debarment.
I'd gone to the ER at around 6pm on the Friday, and it was 24 hours later that i could go to the other hospital and get admitted.
They didn't have an available transport so my daughter drove me. ( at least i got to sneak home for a shower on the way ).
Some time sunday they knocked me out and shoved a hose up my dick. Then they sent me home monday.
Three weeks later it was back in for day surgery , they lazer beamed the stone and replaced the hose.

Just yesterday i had to go in and wait 3 hours and finally get the hose ( stent) out. ( He said it would be 5 minutes and it was probably closer to 3 min, but it was nasty as hell ). Ordeal finally over.
Yeah the system works , but its a waiting game for sure. Maybe a bit faster in the city, but not incredibly so.

Drink lots of water , hydration is good. Kidneystones are bad.

I heard that they were going to supply them with Dodge Rams. Instead of a spare tyre , you just have a spare pickup in the back.
