This is a strange feeling, but 100% agree with Cornes there.
It's the only way forward for the club. It cost a high pick last year to get get rid of an overpaid average player. Can't keep doing that moving forward.
IMO it's why Rankine left too. Not that he is average, just the club didn't want to overpay.

100% agree. We need to keep players here because they want to play for us, not because we pay 200k more than anywhere else. Sell them on the culture and (hopefully to come) team success.

And Ralph did confirm that they offered Koschitzke 150K 1 year contract. Basically, pushing him out. And yet they claim it's comparable to Chol's 2M 4 + 1 offer. Haha, it's a fun.

These deals are probably all done, the AFL is just slowing it down for the hype
No doubt, if I were the list manager I would not use Cameron language.
But I believe it makes no difference. The opposition knows exactly where the player stands from the player and his agent. Once the team tells player in exit interview that the club is happy for him to explore market and if no acceptable offer comes up they are happy to take him back the price goes down no matter what.
Just the fact that Hollands and Chol are on the market lowers the price. You could question if it's a smart decision (no doubt Dimma had a major say in this based on recommendation from coaches, list manager), but the price is very different from the one if we would like to keep them. Imagine is Ben said I want out.

He is very young, a change of clubs and getting out of Melbourne might do him some good.Bloke was out the night before the GF. Seems like just the kinda of guy you want at your club, with that sort of professionalism

Ginnivan will go cheap. For his potential i’d be on the phone getting it done. Only 20 years old and will be a dominant small forward for many years to come and just the type of player Dimma would want. He plays a fierce on the edge style of chaos footy that we lack, would be rankines true replacement hands down.
