Don't remember this board complaining very much about Cam McKenzie who was a top 10 pick. Westcoast supporters can't have one thing go wrong for them?
In fairness we ended up with Pou. If we could match bids we would have only got McKenzie or lost future first trying to jump ahead of Hawks in 2022 draft. So happy it ended up like it did

Agree after his first year I would now take Phillipou ahead of McKenzie and Tsatas, so fait worked in our favour for a change. All of those players will no doubt become excellent players but we should be more than happy with Pou.

Would have been nice to have McKenzie and Phillipou.

Yes, however.

We could have traded our pick for multiple picks in this draft and then have traded back in for another talent after or before the Cmac pick.

This was this years draft. But it would have applied the same for last year and that’s the opportunity we weren’t afforded:

I think Pou could probably be the best kid from last years draft. But that doesn’t we couldn’t have been gifted a better future in other ways.

We do have to remember it is Eagles supporters though, fair chance the majority are not exactly lucid in posting.

Agree. Anything could have happened. Would have been tricky to move from 10 to inside 7, maybe give up a lot? I know clubs this year were paying way overs. What bulldogs did was insane, but I guess they factor in getting Cross, works out ok. Anyway, happy with the direction of club and players we are getting.

I do wonder what kind of draft hand you could assemble just sliding back a pick or 2 in the draft. Like West Coast from pick 1 down to 8 (slowly a spot at a time and grabbed Curtain and then had like 4-5 future seconds and couple current years 2nds.

Reckon we need to allow future trades 2 years in advance make for some pretty epic pick trades

Twomey reported today that west coast were offered pick 2 and 17+18 from North.

Melbourne offered North: pick 6+ a future first for 3. Now, you could argue they could have gotten 6+11 for pick 2.

Which means they would have had 6+11+17+18 for pick 1:

They could have taken: Curtain Tholstrup Collard (3 WA boys) and Hardeman (throwing his name out as he was who was taken at 18)

Hardemann was WA U18 Captain. Make that 4!

Just ran into Joshy Battle up the road walking his dog. Gave him the tried and true "G'Day" as we walked past one another, with a slight nod of the head.

There was that silent sign of respect that I noticed from the outset. We're both a tremendous success in our fields. I respect him for his footballing acumen, but it was obvious that he respects the work I've put in over the years to serve you, the people, as THE moderator on a football forum.

Just another day in the life of yours truly 😎
What's the dogs name
