A long twig is still a twigVery small at 181cm? He doesn't look small.
Much the same was said about Caleb Daniels.Look at him. If he wants it, it is all there for him.Thought he showed plenty when I was down on Monday. Like a little terrier running around. Not lacking for confidence. Was great to see.
In my opinion he's a bit off AFL footy. He's very small. But, who knows? Seems to be hungry
Phwoar. Jye looks pretty good too
Height wise he's fine, down at training he looked very slim, so it's just more he has some (gym) work to do to be able to compete consistently at AFL level.Very small at 181cm? He doesn't look small.
What? No he isn't. He's an outside player. His uncontested to contested possession ratio is 2 to 1.Nick Watson pick 5 for the Hawks.
170cm, that's small.
Caleb Daniel is 168cm, he's a contested ball freak
Stephenson and Ginnivan are two slim FP players who had immediate impact. Personally doubtful he can do why they did early on.Height wise he's fine, down at training he looked very slim, so it's just more he has some (gym) work to do to be able to compete consistently at AFL level.
Fortunately for him small forward is one of the few positions you can generally make an impact without full AFL conditioning.
Don’t know about that. The best small forwards run the shit out of their oppo, like Bobbie Hill did in GFHeight wise he's fine, down at training he looked very slim, so it's just more he has some (gym) work to do to be able to compete consistently at AFL level.

Still a small regardless. That's coz he takes a lot of kick outs, and they like to get the ball to him.
Doesn't kick far either, but kicks at a very high rate of non-clangers.
As opposed to Byron Clanger hahahaha, good username that one imo
Definately not a winger but inside mid and defensive high half forward he could be a gun if allowed to settle in those positions (got to like his want and desire to succeed)Fremantle Docker Neil Erasmus wants to be an inside midfielder or forward during 2024 AFL season
Fremantle youngster Neil Erasmus is setting his sights on either breaking into the club’s centre square or playing as a forward in 2024, saying he doesn’t consider himself among the candidates to take the vacant position on the wing.
Erasmus is entering his third season in the AFL after being drafted by the Dockers at pick 10 in 2021.
The 20-year-old has been forced to be patient, playing only 19 games throughout the last two years, being picked as the sub seven times and being subbed off another two.
Fremantle are looking to replace Liam Henry on the wing after he moved to St Kilda, and Erasmus spent time in that position last season. But despite showcasing his running strength during the club’s recent 1km time trials, he said the wing isn’t his preferred option.
“I’d like to see how things unfold. My passion is, firstly, in the heart of the midfield. An in-an-under contested game is sort of where I find the most enjoyment and passion. But I also see myself having an impact up forward,” Erasmus told The West Australian.
“I really like playing up forward. I did a fair bit in my juniors and leading up to the draft and have had a few talks with a few coaches to sort of push that and educate myself in that area and enhance my forward craft skills.
“I was decent overhead and below my knees. So the versatility there is sort of what I’d say would help me out. I definitely used to be stronger overhead. Obviously everyone’s quite tall at this level.
“Playing in the midfield, you have to hold certain lines play certain roles that don’t really let you fly for many marks. Up forward is a little bit different. That’s part of the craft I would tap back into.
“I think every player should look to sort of broaden their skill set. And this is just one way to do it for me and something that I’m passionate about.”
Erasmus showed off his forward skills as a junior when he kicked four goals in a WAFL colts grand final despite being a bottom age player. Fremantle have a vacancy there after Lachie Schultz moved to Collingwood.
Erasmus spent the off-season focusing on improving his speed and ability to burst from congestion.
He spent time at the UFC’s headquarters in America doing a variety of testing to understand more about his body, and taking part in wrestling training inside an octagon with former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin.
Erasmus also experienced NBA and NFL games, along with college sport in a bid to immerse himself in the US sporting landscape.
The Subiaco junior was drafted at the same time as Jye Amiss and Matt Johnson, and quickly signed a contract extension until the end of 2025.
While he’s got contractual security, Erasmus is sick of being on the fringes of the team. The sub role may have helped him to get a game, but he wants to prove himself as a genuine member of the best 22 next season.
Erasmus said it was difficult to step off the bench as the sub and have an impact on the contest.
“It is tough. The sub role is hard to learn and hard to prepare yourself for,” he said.
“You don’t want to overthink things around how the game might play out. Just staying in the moment is, that’s probably the most important thing about the sub.
“My goal is definitely to be in that in the starting 18 and best 22. I won’t shy away from from putting my hand up this year.
Why Erasmus’ big plans don’t involve vacant wing position
Neil Erasmus is considered one of the candidates to play in Fremantle’s vacant wing position, but he has other ideas and is targeting a totally different spot on the field.thewest.com.au
I wasn't referring to what it takes to be the best small forward, just that it's possible to have an impact without having multiple preseasons and proper conditioning.Don’t know about that. The best small forwards run the s**t out of their oppo, like Bobbie Hill did in GF
And usually are confidence players, who isn’t

Doesn't need to hit em up if he kicks the goals himself (which he has shown he's capable of doing)I hate my self doubt on him. He's driven and hard at it. Teams only have 1 to 2 inside mids in a game and he isn't up there yet. It will take time and maybe he won't make our number 1 inside mid so I hope he could develop into a gut running half forward who can hit up our key forwards
Bobby has zip that delean doesn't haveSmall? Bobbie Hill ain’t no Wayne Carey, but he did win a Norm Smith.
We’ve got tall players, never won what Bobbie has
Who cares how he plays if it helps get his brother acrossAnyone here rate Sam Van Rooyen?
Train-on players join Fremantle on the track
Invitations accepted with two places remaining on Fremantle's listwww.fremantlefc.com.au
Yep, forward/mid wa his draft bio.Much rather fit him into that forward line then as a sub. Most useless role for a developing player. Should’ve been playing finals for peel instead of sitting on the bench.
It could work, I hadn’t really considered him as a forward option. But a setup with Amiss, Treacy as talls, Sturt, Erasmus as mediums and Walters. Frederick as smalls does give a nice mix of class and pressure.Yep, forward/mid wa his draft bio.
Jlo still hasn’t given him a chance to play to his strengths.
Maybe now a chance since Shultz is gone.
Erasmus will shine as the defensive forward, who can kick them outside
of 50.
