Loves them like a whole in the head. He's Richmond aligned and hates pies.
He's the one who made us pay more trade capital then initially agreed for Treloar.

Originally Gubby and team agreed to 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder.
He over ruled them and went to AFL to help step in which saw the 2x pick 7 outcome.
I think he's referring to meat pies...

I seem to remember his brother was a recruiting man at Richmond at the time or something like that?

Think he (the brother) was a Richmond board member iirc. They had a handshake deal on Treloar for cheap but hubby Gubby 🤣 and pies had other ideas.
Think Treloar commented that he thought our list was closer to a flag than Tigers- Richmond, Dogs and Pies all won flags without Treloar - strange life sometimes

Tarryn Thomas cops 18 week ban.
Allegedly for violent threats towards women, possibly in an aboriginal community.

I agree, this puts a line through his name.

But can someone please explain how this happens to anyone where there are no police charges?
Is there more to come?

He may have already been sitting on a lengthy suspended sentence with the AFL due to past indiscretions. And he may have given the AFL / his club undertakings that he has now broken (eg: drinking, curfew, etc)

Of the top 30 attendances last year, 15 involve collingwood....and remember we only played 26 games...

And 9 games away from the G where all of the top 30 were set.

Players get suspended by the AFL for drug offences and the police aren't involved.

Maybe the alleged victim in this case has already reported the allegations to police before and she felt let down. That's not unusual in DV cases.

The last time he was charged for threatening behaviour & it went to court, the police agreed to drop the charge when the judge ordered him to donate $1000 to charity.

* And where does the 28 weeks & Aboriginal community come from?
Firstly, thank you for thoughtfully editing this post.
It’s much more constructive now.
The 18 week ban has been widely reported today on Foxfooty, 9 and elsewhere.
Speculation it’ll be announced by the AFL as early as today.

I’m interested in TT as he’s hugely talented and I believe will become available.
But he does seem to be young man with deep issues.
Likely, but not definitely, beyond redemption.
Which is why I thought it belonged in the Trade thread.
(Mods, was the shift really correct?)

I googled and went to quite few opinions. The ABC, North Board, Nicks, and an indigenous forum amongst others.

There are some discussions that this happened within an Aboriginal community and although not to a contemporary community standard, was not unusual in the community.
There’s also speculation that the police didn’t get involved for cultural reasons, including the possibility that the community was dealing with it.

I don’t claim this as fact. Nor did I seek to broadcast. But you asked.
Perhaps the truth should come out, as the speculation can be worse.
I hope that all involved are on a path to healing.

And I am sorry if this topic triggers you.

Even if he were available, and we were interested in him, what do you think the chances would be of his recruitment getting past our board?

Our board rarely go anywhere near player recruitment, but they totally would get in the middle of any attempt to recruit a player like TT given the risks he would pose. And we don’t have Eddie ‘redemption’ McGuire on our board any more.

I can’t see it happening.

We looked at Stengel.
We recruited Kraquour.

It’s possible.

The fact it possibly took place in an Aboriginal community is irrelevant. It changes nothing.

it seems that mason cox is likely to be sanctioned by the club for being too tall at the tay tay concert.....expect a 4 weeker and community work

Joel Smith accused of drug trafficking, culture. Where's Shaun Smith to comment when you need him.
We know what he'd say..'boys will be boys'. Exactly what he said when May & Melksham punched on. Hypocrite.

'Anti-doping investigators have accused Melbourne footballer Joel Smith of cocaine trafficking in a dramatic escalation of his failed drugs test probe. Sport Integrity Australia officials have uncovered multiple text messages sent by Smith referencing cocaine, after reviewing his phone.' 14 mins ago The Australian.
